In the Cincinnati Enquirer, the local paper, on the day that Son of BEast was released it said that someday they might add tunnels to it. I wish, but don`t think they are for 2001. Anyone know anything about this? Also, if they added a tunnel there should be one at the bottom of the first drop and on half of one of the helixes to be more like its dad the Beast. In my opinion, tunnels on SoB would make the ride even more fun.
I have to agree. You probably can tell by my board name that SOB is my favorite woody ever and already an incredible ride but a tunnel following the second drop going into the first helix would put the icing on the cake,so to speak.Come on PKI get busy!!!
As I remember not all the tunnels on the beast were installed when built. The only ones installed were the sections that actually drop below the ground and the rest were added the following few seasons as the ride settled in. It would not suprise me that tunnels were designed for Sonny. They just have not been installed. William
Who is William?
When the Beast first opened, the helix was covered with a roof but was not enclosed. (Except for the support structures for the roof) Also, after the coavered brake run, there used to be 2 underground tunnels. For the next season they enclosed the sideds of the helix making it a tunnel. and they combined the two underground tunnels forming a long tunnel.
Son of Beast would be awesome with (a) tunnel(s)!
I completely agree! Wow, what an awesome effect a tunnel would have on the first helix! Then I would probably put one from the end of the loop to the beginning of the second helix. Imagine coasting through the loop, shooting directly into a tunnel, and then emerging to be thrown into another helix. What a great addition to the ride that would make!

Coasters...the best natural buzz available.
How about placing a tunnel right before the loop and right after the loop.

I think they should do this in many places. Something that would be really cool would be one at the bottom of the 1st drop, but the same tunnel would be used for the entrance to the loop and the exit. That would be intense! Also one should go at the bottom of the 1st helix. In my opinion this would make the ride almost twice as good.

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast!
I agree that tunnels would be great on this coaster. Maybe they will be added in 2002 for PKI's 30th anniversary.
That`s a good thought K.C., I just wish that, if they`re going to add tunnels to it that they would have done it this season. Hopefully, if they do it, they do it in 2002 for the park`s 30th anniversary!
How about if they enclose the top of the loop. that would scare the heck out of you. half way throught the loop then everything goes black.

I've heard this rumor for a while now. That would be GREAT if they did this. SOB is a good ride, but some people disagree. I also heard rumors about PKD is going to get SOB. I doubt it. Did anyone else hear the rumor about PKD?
btpcheater, I have not heard this roumor but I aam on my knees praying as I type. PKD is my home park and although they have some decent coasters, with Volcano I feel the premier ride,PKD needs a signature type ride and an SOB clone would be just the thing! I remember when PKI opened The Beast and then PKD put in Grizzly I was hoping so bad that it would be the Beast in the East if you know what Im saying.Although Grizzly is an ok coaster I sure wish it was a lot bigger and badder.Im not going to lose any sleep over th thought of an SOB clone though, with all the problems with SOB and now the lawsuit I dont know who if anyone woul build another unless it was scaled down quite a bit,and then it wouldnt be SOB would it?
Personally, I'd rather see 'em get the third train running...

I don't think that Grizzly is ok. I think it's not worth riding. The funnest part of the ride was the que line, and that's not saying much.
