No it's not a Monty Python skit.....just two notes. One, PKI's recorded message still says that SOB will be operating this weekend. (Hoping this one's correct) And two: PKI is going to hire 200 plus workers from around the world to work at the park this year (as stated on local news stations). The park is going to house these workers at the University of Cincy's dorms and bus them up to the park. Brush up on your foreign languages! It will be like visiting Epcot. And before anyone decides to jump on my case, the above message does NOT have a negative connotation. I just mean that park will have more interesting people there this year.
I'm all for the foreign work force. Americans largely have a crappy work ethic. I'm reminded of a guy from one of the old Soviet republics at Cedar Point (where nearly a quarter or more of the seasonals are foreign). The guy got his bonus check at the end of the season and cried, because it was more than his parents made in an entire year.

The best thing I can suggest to really tell if it's open is to watch the PKI Webcam for a little while and see if you spot any trains. As for this weekend, I wouldn't be too hopeful. I've been watching the web-cam this morning, and I do see trains running on King Cobra, Adventure Express and I think I saw one on Top Gun. But nothing on the big SoB... Don't see anyone going into - or coming out of - the station. (Whichever side faces the webcam) It's 11:42 here, which means it's about 2:42pm. there.
*Sigh* Oh well, as long as it's open the week of June 12th. We'll be hitting CP & PKI somewhere around June 12th (my b-day) to the 14th.
I didn't see any anouncements on the local news station. They said PKI will announce if SOB will open this weekend later on today. Keep your fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.:) Right now all is quiet here in Cincy.

I just posted a news entry, but until it's on the site, I'll tell you here. It's not going to be running. They say that the state inspector is refusing to come to PKI before this weekend. WLWT.com has reported that they have run the trains hundreds of times to see if the track will stay smooth. Whatever. I don't care anymore.
By the way, Beastmaster, quit doing that with your eyes, they'll get stuck that way.
Too late, Jacob. Call the ambulance. LOL! :)

By the way, Jacob, do they know why the state inspector isn't coming down this weekend? I did read the article though. I thought he or she was here when PKI opened SOB that one Friday night. You'd think that the inspector gave PKI the O.K.

BTW, if anyone is interested, I created an auto-refreshing PKI Webcam page. Just go to http://www.13threalm.com/pki. The main page refreshes every 60 seconds (for now), but if you click the link in the upper right, it opens the image in a smaller, sized window that refreshes every thirty seconds (which is about what the web-cam is updating at right now)
