Has anyone heard any information about the wind damage on Son of Beast?

Thrillride has something on it. I believe the damage was restricted to the second hill and has now been cleared and or rebuilt.

The damage to Son Of Beast was minimal at best. According to the presentation by Jeff Siebert, PR Rep for PKI, at ACE No Coaster Con, the area damaged was built a day or so before the accident. It was structure temporarily attached to the rest of the structure. When the 70mph winds came through, the temp supports gave out and the pieces came tumbling down. The rest of the structure withstood the winds and had no damage. As far as I know, they fixed the section and carried on with construction. Mr. Siebert also said that they were well ahead of schedule and this would not postpone opening.

I know I'll be on it on April 8 and 9.

Between SOB, MF, and the SFO trilogy, I don't have to leave Ohio (once I enter from Mich. :) )

UPDATE TO THIS STORY: OSHA has slapped a $100,000+ fine on PKI for not following guidelines for fall prevention. Construction is not expected to slow and the project should remain on schedule.

Yikes! That's an expensive mistake!

Whew! That is a lot of money for their mistake but if you think about it what if there were people there when that happened. Something very serious could have happened like someone being crushed. By the way what is OSHA?

OSHA is an organization making sure that you are working in a safe work place environment.

Thanks, I thought it was Ohio State Health Administration or something :)

Its an organization you dont want to mess with. They can shut you down in a heartbeat. If PKI would have disputed that fine you can guarantee that the Son of Beast would have been put on hold for further construction and all coaster junkies looking forward to its debut would have been waiting to be able to ride it.
Yeah, did you hear that one of the high workers fell and actully caught himself on a beam and was rescued and lowered where he recieved medical attention. He was ok (thankfully) and that's what led the OSHA to fine PKI for the saftey problems.

Imagine! PKI sticking someone 200 feet in the air without saftey cords!!!!! YIKES!!!!! I'd be out of there in a second folks!
I just hope SOB avoids any breakdowns or problems a project like that can cause. It looks amazing in the photos.
