Smurf Ride?

With the removal of the Phantom Theater at PKI, is there any chance that the Smurf ride will be reactivated. This was always one of my favorite rides at PKI, as well as the Dutchmen, so many good rides removed.

Very doubtful that we will see anything then a Scooby Doo Sally Dark Ride in the old PT building. The interactive shoot em up kind. If we don't get one of those I would defineitely not expect getting the smurf ride back.

Why on earth would PKI re-install a ride that they tore out years ago? Smurfs are hardly popular and have no marketing value these days.

So I would say no ;-)

You can still ride the Dutchman..... just at a different park. PKI sold it to KK.

Nope, It is definately NOT comeing back. I LOVED that ride when I was a kid.

Gargemel is a meanie.

I didn't really think there was any chance of it coming back, but i sure wish it could.

Shaggy- I haven't been to KK so thanks for telling me about the Dutchmen. I'm going next year.

LooT- The best band you've never heard of.

There is zero chance that they would or could bring back the Smurfs. All of the pieces were sold off years ago. I should have bought one of the Smurfs from the ride when I worked there and had the opportunity to pick one up.
It will definitely not be revived. It would be very cool if they did bring it back, but then they ahve to think of marketingability. Scooby Doo is VERY marketable and a good move by Paramount especially if they do a good job on it.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

But does Six Flags have some rights to Scooby Doo also? (ghost blasters at SFStL for instance)
The Smurfs were probably the ONE cartoon that I hated more than Scooby Doo. I hope those blue rodents burn in Dante's Inferno.

Anyone remember when the Smurfs got bitten by that bee or something and they turned red and said "Gnap! Gnap!!" and ran around biting each other??

Why do we fear Mack trucks, but not Mack Wild Mouse coasters?

OK the whole Scooby Doo thing. Paramount has the rights to Hanna Barbara the Scooby Doo cartoons. Warner Brothers did the Scooby Doo movie hence them having stuff at Six Flags. And why wouldn't they have the rights anyway, every single Paramount park has some Scooby Doo ride or another.

I look for a couple flatrides with a mirror ball.

A Spongebob Ride would be F.U.N.!

F is for fire which burns down the whole town, U is for uranium bombs! N is for no survivors!

Who knows, it could be interesting.

The answer is yes.... and can be found at your beloved Kennywood for example.

The Roll-O-Plane, Bayern Curve and I believe the Flyers all were removed for many years and then returned when Lost Kennywood was built.
