I hate myself a little for immediately being judgy about this, because that's unfair. It's well known in psychology that people who endure a traumatic event in their lives, even if it doesn't have this kind of physical manifestation, tend to do things that give them some feeling of control over their lives and bodies. It's almost funny that among my fellow divorcees, we almost all ended up with at least one tattoo or piercing among us. So for that reason, I can't find any fault in her decision to shoot the photos. Everyone takes steps to find their new normal after something difficult.

My first thoughts when I read the headline were why did it have to be in her underwear but after seeing the pictures and her talking about them I get it.

Beautiful. Perhaps this will help Vicky find peace and emotional healing. Her innocence, youth, and beauty were senselessly robbed.

I started before I got divorced, but after the fact, it just kept growing and growing until I had a complete half sleeve on one arm, and started filling in my calves. It's been 4+ years now, and naturally, I have to fill in the blank spaces so im still going - but if it wasn't for the divorce, I'd have never even gotten this far.

The way you describe it, it almost sounds like some sort of fungal infection...
