slingshot vs vertigo

I was just wondering if any of you out there have been on both a sling shot and a vertigo/thrill shot.  If so, how do they compare? What gives the bigger rush? I would think that the sling shot actually would since the speed and amount of flips isn't controlled, but what's you opinion?

I rode the sling-shot @ Great Adventure.  I actually would rather ride a S&S Turbo Drop or Space Shot.  It was not way as thrilling as I thought it would be.  Of course this does not answer you qestion, but I hope it helps in some way.
I think it is strange to think that the Slingshot is not as good as the older S&S towers... Remember that the slingshot is a pay attraction while the towers (usually) aren't, so that may be creating a bias. While I like all the S&S attractions, I think the Slingshot is the most thrilling, especially because you launch above the whole structure.

I agree that it wasn't as thrilling as I thought it was going to be, but that is because it has intimidating looks. The exposed cables scare me, but only because they look flimsy. The fact that your seat flips takes it to a level way past the S&S towers. To say that you would rather ride a Space Shot (assuming both were free) is weird, even if the Space Shot was the 'Big Shot' (the one on the Stratosphere).... Whoa, new idea... replace Big Shot with a Slingshot on the roof... Now that would be insane! And a good replacement idea since the 'Fishook' seems like a lost project.

I've been on a 120ft slingshot with a ball projection height of 160ft & enjoyed it tremendously. You hit 6G for a split second upon launch. There is some airtime - some, as the ball is rather confining.

I haven't been on Vertigo, but from videos I would imagine the flipping mode would be terrifying as it's very open aired. You would be scared as a harness is all that straps you to the launch vehicle. Plus it is a very tall ride.

The Slingshot is more intense due to its quick acceleration - Vertigo is not as quick. Both are/look equally thrilling to me.

Here is the site for Funtime Inc - Australian made Slingshots.

For those who've been on Vertigo, does the launch vehicle rise above its towers & how far?
