Sledding!

I love snow! Maybe that's just because I get it only about once every 7 years.

I've never really been sledding, but I really love skiing and snowboarding - it's like a standup coaster that you control. Oh yeah - tubing's excellent too.

The way I see it, the older you get, the more and more you start to think snow is a nuisance. I love it personally. It causes multiple snow days!

I hate the cold and I hate snow. They both equal an offseason, so I will be forever bitter towards the winter.

I might like the "ice slides" up in Pokagon State Park, but I've never been up there to ride them.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

Yes Ride of Steel, use a lift like the one that takes tubes up to waterslides like Zoombabwe. Welding skills, a motor, belt and plenty of scrap metal would be necessary.

Yeah, Playerpunk is right. I used to love snow if it was enough to shut down schools. Now it's just annoying. It slows down traffic and make me track mud into the house. We got about 5 inches last night here in Pittsburgh and now I've been stuck inside all day because I'm too lazy to dig out my car. Snow is just fine as long as it's not in the street or on my car. We need to develop smart snow.
I wasn't feeling up to sledding today, but my husband took my daughter out for awhile. I look out to see what they are doing and what do I see? Them flying down the hill and my daughter has her hands up in the air as high as possible. Where's the camcorder when you need it?

I went sledding today.. Boy was it awesome. Biggest hill Ive ever sled down! Kinda reminds me of those crazy Calvin and Hobbes comic strips when they went sledding. I wrote a trip report in the trip report forum, be sure to check it out!
are you serious.
Am I serious? Look in the trip reports forum to find out! Its not like anyone else has been writing trip reports (aside from Jeff).

"Mark, you have to try this! Its gross!"

I will never doubt Robb again...

Snow is awsome. Before coasters it was snow for me. I ski and snowboard all the time and to me it rivals and maybe better than riding coasters. Right now it is really coming down and may give us a snow day tommorow so I can't complain with the snow at all.

Have you hugged a Beemer today?

I love snow. I always build little jumps and go down them. Even though I tend to always fall off my sled and land on by butt. But it's still fun.

Please trade with me (well, not WI, but something colder than FL). It was 80 degrees today in Orlando. It's really depressing watching the news and seeing everyone playing in the snow. Plus, when you get to ride coasters all year, they get boring (especially since they're all B&Ms).

When I was a kid, I would spend the entire day outside sleding and building snow people. Now that I am starting to get old, I can't stand the outdoors when there is snow on the ground.
Cold I can see, but wet?

Man, it won't be wet again up here until April or so.

I don't like the cold.

BUT- A good snowball fight is devine. A few hours of sledding on a good hill is just plain fun. And as for the Swallow Cliff tobaggan slides near my home... It's simply the next best thing to a roller coaster.

In conclusion, without the Russian Winter, with it's sledding, roller coasters would not exisit. So, quit whinning, Y'all, and have some fun!

We have about a 50-60 ft hill near my house. We stole my friends kid brothers plastic skatboarding mini ramp and put it at the bottom of the hill. Had a good times smashing one of my friends in the face with my sled while he was airborne.:)

The thing is, I really hte being cold, so I hardly ever go sledding, winter is good to shapen up the DDR skillz though.

Ninjas are cool; and by cool, I mean totaly sweet.

No sledding down here in Ft. Lauderdale but I have heard of some guys who mountain bike down one of our local trash mounds (landfills). They are the tallest hills we have.

Best part is you can pick up some spare needles why you are there.

Well, I've been around for more winters than you want to know about, and I still look forward to every snow day. We went sledriding yesterday and have already been out once today and we just came in for lunch after which we'll be out again. The only reason we didn't go skiing somewhere today is Abby Leigh has a game tonight. Snow is great and is certainly better than a day inside.

What I have never been able to understand is why none of these ski resorts allow sledriding. We keep demonstrating to them that it is possible, by taking our sleds up the back way and riding down the main runs. For some reason, they get all excited about this and come running from everywhere and when we get to the bottom and they finally catch up to us they make us leave. I know my Flexible Flyer is at least as well engineered as a pair of Dynastars, and is certainly as fast.

Some people there's just no reasoning with.

I STILL love snow, although the cold gets to me more now than it did when I was younger. I remember sitting in a restaurant in Petosky waiting for the temperature to hit 5 degrees so we could hit the ski slopes. Not anymore. My knees can't take it.

But I do still like to play in the snow...snowball fights, snow wrestling, building snow sculptures.

I HATE driving in it.
