It ruled. Amazing airtime. Puts coasters to shame. You SHOULD do this once in your life, minimum.

Acoustic Viscosity came with, and didn't die either! ;)

Enjoy the vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-khl5uluLg *** Edited 10/8/2006 11:50:35 PM UTC by nasai***

Man, watching that really makes me want to go again!

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

I had my heart set out to skydive, but then someone's chute failed to open at my local skydiving place a few weeks ago. So now I am...reconsidering.

Go somewhere else with a better reputation....or have an experienced skydiver (non instructor) pack your chute for you.

You are my hero.

I have always wanted to skydive, and that's one of the few things I want to do before I die (closest I've ever gotten was Parasailing). That video made me want to get up and do it right now. Thanks for sharing that!

Very cool Rob! Makes me want to give it a try.

You are now an official member of OCF! ;)

Happy belated b-day! The video was awesome.

I hit my 40th just 2 days before you, but mine wasn't quite as exciting.

I should hope it didn't have less airtime than a coaster. Haha. I also need to go very soon!

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

Stand up, hook up, shuffle through the door, jump right out and shout AIRBORNE!

If my main don't open wide, I got a reserve by my side. If that one should fail me too, look out below I'm a comin through."

AIRBORNE!!!

Glad you had a great time on your first jump! Y'know the army is taking people past forty now...

Certain victory.

Thanks everyone!

It was a truly amazing experience, as I've said before. Funny, because when you're in the air, it seems like a LONG time. Watching the video, I realized I probably only dropped maybe 40 seconds?

Still, I'm thinking of getting my license. Only 6 jumps away!

My wife says she'll jump with me, if I could ever become a tandem dive master. That way, if we go, we go together.

;)

Wow... You're 40? Damn - I didn't think you were *that* old! :)

Happy Birthday! Congrats on surviving and all... The video was awesome!

Rob,

Again congrats on everything! Not to burst any bubbles, but just to clarify -- you can typically go solo (without an instructor) after about 7-8 jumps, but the actual license requires a minimum of 25. As for being a tandem master though, you'll need at least 499 more jumps...

Whatcha waitin' for? :)

(we'll get you a couple more when you visit next year!)

Yeah, I figured it was 500 or so for the Tandem/Jumpmaster thing. For the license, I figured it was the 7, so that's good to know. Still, I'm pretty damn sure I'll be pursuing it.

Thanks Jeff. :)

Let me be the lateset to say happy birthday and thanks for sharing. Other than flying in one of those parabolic flight planes, that has to be one of the biggest rushes possible. I hope I get a chance before I'm too old. Wow that looked cool!

Very cool Rob.

Just like myself with tattoos and skydiving: always said I would do it but back out and provide excuses. :)

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Man...every time I think to myself that I'm gonna skydive, I watch a video like that and wonder why the hell I would ever jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

Looks like an absolute BLAST, though. Well done, Rob, and happy b-day to boot! :)

Sheesh, Dave... it's not like I had a tangled chute! ;) Thanks for checking out my vid, though. It's really something everyone SHOULD do once, just to know that feeling of continually falling. It never feels like you're flying, or floating. It feels like FALLING constantly. It's pretty sweet. Come out here, and I'll take you to the jump zone. I'm thinking we should make this a part of the whole Puyallup/CAC thing yearly. What say you all?

Scott, I'm way more afraid of a tattoo or a piercing than skydiving. Call me odd. ;)
