Skydiver

Sadly, I have never had the opportunity to ride a Skydiver, but I was fascinated by pictures I saw as a child.

While flipping through the J&J Amusements pictures I saw the TIVOLI FORCE 10

I never saw this before. Is it a version of the Paratrooper/Skilift? Does it go upside down or does the wheel tilt? (there seem to be hydraulic cylinders at the top of the lift arm).

I always fantasized about an Enterprise with open cars. This seems pretty close. Do the seats have lapbars?

Ahhh... the Tivoli force 10. What an absolutely amazing ride that is. Bates Bros. booked one into the IX Indoor Amusement Park about 10 years ago and it was perhaps one of the most intense rides I have ever ridden. The cars spin at a VERY high rate of speed, and the g-forces are so severe, your eyes actually start to close! The wheel does lift to an angle of less than 90 degrees (I'd say about 75?), then the wheel spins horizontally while the lift is still up (kind of like a Chance Chaos before it lowers into position). I guess you kind of go upside-down! As far as restraints go, there's an unusual OTSR that is more lap-bar than anything. One bar covers both passengers in the car. I haven't seen very many of these... which is a shame because it really is a wild ride.

Add "Lisko & Sons Amusements" to the list of Chance Skydiver owners. This company supplied a terribly shabby-looking group of rides for this year's Geneva (OH) Grape JAMboree, and the Skydiver was its main attraction. It was running insanely fast and made a loud "clanking" noise the whole time. Needless to say, I stayed far away from it!

FYI there is only one Zipper that allows single riders that I've ever encountered: the consession at Coney Island.

IT DOES?! ah very good...I'm not that far from Coney Island. Although their Zipper looks more run down then others I've seen.

I hear that the Force 10 is the fastest flat ride ever. Seaside NJ's Casino Pier used to have one. I never went on it though because I was scared of everything back then!

The Enterprise doesn't spin cars fast enough to go completely sideways but this ride does, and these cars look a bit heavier. You (and I) can just imagine how fast it is.
