Well, first it was a hot one there. Id say around 91+. We arrived at the park fairly early (9:30 or so) so, I figured we will get on Raging Bull pretty quick. But didnt know they rope off part of the park intil 10am. I dont understand that rule. So of course its starts to get crowded and once the opened up everyone went straight for Raging Bull. Ill pretty much give a short review on all the rides I was on:
Raging Bull: First ride, I thought it was rather, umm, boring. It didnt do anything for me so, I realize maybe I sat in a wrong seat or something. Second ride, (lastrow, backright), MUCH MUCH better. The drop was awesome, the turnaround, lots of air. Much better improvement over my first ride. Last ride, at night, Awesome. It clearly was my best ride of the whole day.
Viper: I still have a hard time grasping that this is an in-house ride. This ride is AWESOME. Awesome airtime, intense lateral forces, good pacing. Very good coaster allaround.
Shockwave: It was good, nothing different than the Viper at MagicMountain, 'cept its a little shorter in the drop. I like the drop and going through the three loops, but it got kinda jerky after the midcourse brake.
IronWolf: This was a surprise. Ive heard numerous reports on how rough this ride is but, actually, I thought it was very good, good pacing with minimal headbanging. I notice it has the same OTSR as Mantis, RR, etc....
American Eagle: This ride was decent. Nice drop, but what killed it for me is when that midcourse brake before the helix nearly halted the train to a complete stop so the other train can catch up. I liked the helix but after that it got kinda boring..
BatmanTR: When I went to SixFlagsStLouis earlier in the summer, I found their Batman Clone to be rather non-intense. Not from what I remember when I rode the one at MagicMountain. But, after I rode this one, just reassured why I love the Batman Ride. It was so intense I couldnt believe it. Yes, I definitely like this park. This is the BEST SixFlags trip I had all year.
Thanks for the TR, Coasterr. SFGAm is my home park also and I couldn't agree more about B:TR and Viper. I could ride Viper all day. It's got everything you could want in a coaster.
