Sixflags.com Gets New Look

I just checked http://www.sixflags.com, and the main page has been revamped, and I like it. It seems that SF has incorprated a lot of different musical artists into their new site. For example, you can view a SFGAm commercial starring Willa Ford, or a SFKK commercial starring Sugar Ray. Also, there is a page that lists all parks' Season Pass prices all on a single page.

It's better, but the navigation is too small on the front and there's zero consistant navigation throughout the site.

Flash sites bug me, 'cause they feel they need to animate EVERYTHING!!! Everytime you click something, a big animation needs to happen, then you have to wait for it to happen, and load... Jeff is right, it's an improvement, but still a long way to go...

The lack of consistent navigation is a huge problem. From a design standpoint, though, the front page looks nice.

Well obviously they are going to redo all the pages - some of the sections already have the same navigation as the front. I think it is a nice design and a great improvement over the last one. They just should have waited until all the pages were complete.

So it's the change it as you go method... that's really professional (sarcasm). They obviously don't have a QC step in their process.

I cannot believe they deployed a partially done site like that. That is so unprofessional. You click on most of the links and you get pages from their old site providing a very unconsistant look and feel. If I did that on the sites that I run I would get canned.

I love how on http://www.sixflags.com/music/concerts/ they put the Buffalo dot down in NYC

What I get a kick out of (and I just spent 2 minutes on the site) is this... http://www.sixflags.com/music/concerts/

I think their site designers need to go back to Geography 101...they have SFWoA (Cleveland) about where Columbus is and SFDL (Buffalo) where NYC is..

Well they have a "new" front page (woo hoo-rolling eyes), I think I would have had EVERYTHING ready to go before I launched it. Sad very sad that they think they must use so much graphics. I am on a high speed access computer, but what about those who don't have one and are still using dial up? I bet it would take FOREVER for the thing to load.

It seems like they feel they need to change their layout of the page every year. They should wait 2 years or something and come up with a layout worth keeping for a extended time period.

Lots of gray. Gee, how colorful. That sure conjures up feelings of summer amusement park excitement for me.

What? No "It's way better than Cedar Point" commercial from SFWoA, or should it be called (if you go by the map) Six Flags Dayton...
