Sixflags question. Do they have a "Gay Day"?

Does any of the sixflags themeparks have gay day?
-----------------
Just so you all know, iF I dont get off this website alive, I just wnat you all to know that I love you!
I am not sure about SF but I know Paramount and Disney do. I am not gay, but I have been to the parks on the days..kinda weird. Might wanna call the park.
Well, @ SFGAm this last season there was a "gay day." If I understood correctly, there was a gay parade in Chicago. The day after, many of the people in the parade came to the park (all in red shirts for some reason.....). I don't believe the park sponsored it, but I've been wrong once or twice before. ;)

I was there that day.....I was wondering why everyone was wearing red shirts.
Cedar Point's Gay Day is on Father's Day. I don't know about Six Flags but www.gayday.com has dates for amusement parks all over the country.

Most parks don't officially sponsor "gay days" -- too much controversy and all.  Usually you have to check with location gay organizations and see if they put together road trips to parks they are close to.

Disney's "Gay Days" are the most famous, but Disney itself has no involvement with the planning etc.  Though I'm sure they don't mind the extra business.

I went to Cedar Point's "Gay Day" back in 1995 and we had a blast.  It's "held" on Father's Day.  Seems to be a good day to go.... it was a Sunday and for CP it wasn't that busy.

The red shirt thing is pretty standard for any gay day at a park.  Goes along the lines of the red AIDS ribbon.

If your local park doesn't have one, organize one!  :-)

Cedar Point's Gay Day is not park sponsered to my knowledge.  They just all happen to be there on a certain day.

SFoT has a "Gay Day" in mid to late September. SFAW has theirs in June. Both are held right around the time that the Dallas and Houston have their respective Gay Pride parades. I know that SFMM has one as well. I think its in the fall, but I've never been and am not absolutely positive about it.

I would think that many others have them as well, but to my knowledge they are not park sponsored events.

I was going to mention the lack of official sponsorship, but TiggerMan beat me to it! Anyway, I'm hoping to drag my girlfriend along to a Gay Day somewhere this year. There is a Gay Day website - http://www.gayday.com - that has information, mostly about the Disney day but there's some about other parks' days as well.
Theres a company called Atlantis Events that holds parties around the country at many types of places. Here in Vegas they used to have it at Wet N Wild, but they had lots of problems with it......

Now they rent out the theme park at MGM Grand for it every October. They just had the one for this year back on Oct. 6th.

These parties are kinda wierd lots of guys dancing with no shirts on.......hmmmmmm I usually work SkyScreamer when they stop by MGM.

SFMM had a private "gay day" party this year on Friday, September 7th.  Last year it was in November.  The events are sponsored by a local group - Great Outdoors Adventures.
Yeah, SFMM's gay day was great. It was Friday evening from 7pm-1am. A private company basically rents the park out and then you buy tickets from them. It was a lot of fun....walk ons in early evening. Terrific event all around. I'm definitely planning on going again next year.
Yeah SFMM does. Like Blaster said, a private company rents out the park. You have to keep your eyes open , though, because there is not a lot of advertising for the event...
I just wanted to throw in a quick comment about how pleased I am that this thread has maintained a positive tone.  I know several previous threads on the same topic had to be closed due to the initiation of "flame wars".  Thanks to everyone for being an adult and dealing with this "sensitive" issue as such...Johnny said "you have to keep your eyes open".  I agree, and I'll add that an open mind wouldn't hurt anyone either.

It has only been positive because we've nuked quite a few hatemongers in the process, unfortunately. Overall though, still a credit to the peeps.

Hey Rod.... thanks for the link and info about SFGAvd.  I figured someone had to have one there, but I've never heard any news of it here in Philly.  This will defintely go on my agenda for next year.

Any clue if any groups sponsor one at Dorney?  I can't wait to get back there and ride Talon again and again and again and again and again......... :-)
