Six Flags St. Louis

Hey guys, I'm new. I've been checking out the site for a long time, but I just now registered. I was just wondering if anyone had ideas about SFStl in the future? I realize this has probably been brought up before and I've heard the rumors of a new hypercoaster, but does anyone have insight on what may be coming next year? I certainly think they need something steel that is big. I realize Freeze is 200ft. tall, but it doesn't have the best capacity in the world. I also have a belief that they really need a drop ride of some kind.

In my opinion this could be a signature park for the company because of its beauty and the area it is located in(smack dab in the middle of the country). What do ya think?

I look forward to many interesting discussions on this board.

Hopefully you'll get your wish. The rumors point to a Intamin Hyper, likely a Superman Ride of Steel clone, and/or an Intamin Freefall, either like Drop Zone, or Acrophobia.

Hopefully the rumors come true.

Darn these alergies. Yeah the rumers are deffently correct abotu intiamin, but I'm not so sure its gonna be a Superman clone ;). Btw the new kiddie ride is, almost finished. Just thought all you guys would like too know that becasue we all love those minature cars that go round and round.

The Intiman that was proposed was a practical clone of Goliath@Six Flags Holland. Though I'm not suprised that Six Fags would build this Junior Hypercoaster in pairs. I don't think it will be themed to Superman though because he colors on the proposal were yellow track with red supports, of course we thought Goliath would be red and blue but it turned out green and purple. So we'll just have to wait and see.
Wasn't it also rumored that the station would be located across the railroad tracks next to Tidal Wave there at SFStL? I thought I read that somewhere.

Vertigo: what's this proposal you speak of?

-----------------
If the shoe fits, find another one.

The proposal that was presented to the city's board, they must submit plans to build pretty far in advance if the ride is to be very large. They have to take in considerations what might need to be done to accomidate the larger potential crowds that the new ride might bring....especially the lines to get into the parking lot, which can stretch all the way back to Eureka at times on the Interstate.

When was it submitted?

Um, I'm not sure on the date, but anything submitted to the city can be viewed at the court house. I imagine that is probably pretty vague. It was when the submitted the plans for the Boss. Just go down to the court house, no on second though it would actually be at the city hall, and ask to see the proposals that have been submitted here in the last month or so.

Then why wasn't it big news? Or did i just miss it?

HEy this might be the reason why sixflags road is gonna be 10 lanes wide and why there makeing I-44 at SF Rd 16 lanes. Construction this progect will start in abotu Augest.

I saw those hyper plans when I visited the park last september. The colors were indeed Red and Yellow. The plans were basically a mirror image of Goliath, but the sfstl version was 255 feet tall. It had a stengel dive and that other weird element that Goliath has. But, the SFSTL version had an awesome helix section before heading back towards the station. After I saw the plans, I told the managers that I thought that "The Flash" was a great name. They seemed to like it, maybe it will stick.

I tried to remember what I saw from the prints and I recreated it in NL. Below is a link to a screenshot. It was very impressive! http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cgodsey/vwp?.dir=/Designs+by+Godsey&.dnm=SFSTL+Hyper.jpg&.src=bc&.view=l&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cgodsey/lst%3f%26.dir=/Designs%2bby%2bGodsey%26.src=bc%26.view=l

Here is one that I made in Scream Machines the day after I got back from the park in sept. The flat part heading back to the station should be 3 airtime hills. http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cgodsey/vwp?.dir=/Designs+by+Godsey&.dnm=Layout-hyper.jpg&.src=bc&.view=l&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/cgodsey/lst%3f%26.dir=/Designs%2bby%2bGodsey%26.src=bc%26.view=l

Ravenguy, other than the city board, it wasn't made public knowledge. I am not too certain if they did pass the proposal or not, and depending on if they did, will determine if it gets built.

I wanted to go to SFStL this year (around SRM time), but we may end up heading North this year (IB, SFGAm, etc.) and heading to KC/StL next year. Stengel Dive!!!!

Any resemblance between this post and humor is purely coincidental. No robots were harmed in the filming of this episode...The sarcasm filter default has been left ON for your enjoyment.

Well hopefully they'll be three new coasters in the Show-Me state next year. With KBF taking a year off from building a new coaster that leaves budget open for WOF, VF or MIA to get a new coaster. SFStL is supposed to get their hyper and then SDC is supposed to get a woodie, so who knows. It might be a good year to come to the Show-Me State in 2003

Bossstl, I gotta ask. Where did you here they were gonna make 44 16 lanes wide???? Are you being sarcastic or do you really believe this? By my quick math that would roughly double the number of lanes in front of the park making the highway approximatly 192 feet wide not counting medians and shoulders. Is sixflags going to donate that nice grassy area in front of the parking lot to relocate the outer road? The news articles we read in the Post and the Journal said they were going to have 2 dedicated lanes in each direction with a barrier to seperate them from the through lanes. This isn't meant to be a slam or flame, but that just sounds pretty impossible without moving buildings on the south side of the highway or relocating the outer road on the north onto six flags property. If you know something that wasn't made public by the highway dept. let us know.

HEy I got this news from the park durning orintation, but ever since those tragic accedents durning the 2000 season there has been a HUGE push too try and fix that intersection. Now in less I heard wrong and that sometimes does happen the highway there will be 16 lanes wide and then Sixflags road will be 10 lanes wide.
