Six Flags Should Buy Ghost Town

I'm just excited that Top Thrill would even comment on *her own* park on this 'buzz thread. You know we'll never get Dolly to comment on HER woodie...;)

Maggie Valley...sounds even more risque than Dolly Wood...if that's even possible...

I really dislike people who talk bad about amusement parks just because they aren't in mint condition or have 10 roller coasters. Ghost town is a great small park for family's and small children. It also has a couple rides for teens and the older age group. I personally like the idea of a secluded park like Ghost Town. The only way to get into the main place is a railroad or a chairlift now thats a real amusement park. Maybe someone will pick it up maybe they wont. Hopefully they will becuase my family loves Ghost town and has been 3 times.
I wasn't dogging the park. I have never been there. I have been by the park though and I was just giving reasons why I don't see a major chain ala Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Paramount being interested in buying the park.
Six Flags Magic Maggie also features the thrilling attractions "Line: The Ride" and "Parking Lot: Ultimate Escape" to keep with the Six Flags tradition.

What is it with some people and bashing Six Flags?

#1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!! My top 7 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Montu 3. Yankee Cannonball 4. Kumba 5. Gwazi 6. Cyclone (SFNE) 7. B:DK

I actually do think a major amusement park chain would do good there. I go to that area at least once every year and didn't even know Ghost Town was an amusement park. I just thought it was like a chair lift uphill, and maybe like a show and restaurant or something up there, and that was it. It wasn't until I saw the big red coaster up there that I knew it was a park. So my guess is the GP doesn't really know that much about Ghost Town. If some park like SF bought it, the GP wiuld KNOW it's a theme park and flock to it.

I probably wouldn't know it was an amusement park just by driving by there either. But that is the best part about Ghost Town no one knows it is really a good amusement park until they get up the lifts. The secludedness of this park is what drew my family to it so much. No long lines, ok food, great shows, and a camping ground right outside of the park.

Frontierland is now Santa's Land.

FYI: Frontierland is not located where Santa's Land is located. Frontier Land is located where the Casino now sits.

I attended the last operating day that Frontierland was open. The closed and sold the rides off and the land was vacent for awhile tell someone got the bright idea of building a small water park. Needless to say the water park did not last long and was shut down. You can still see some of the waterslides when you are walking on the far sidewalk going into the casino.

Magster try to make funny. Nobody laugh. Magster MAD! Magster SMASH!

This is an interesting topic. I think Ghost Town could be turned around. Look at the success Holiday World has had since adding The Raven and The Legend. Otherwise, without those coasters, how many would drive out of their way to visit it? I know I wouldn't have, but after hearing such great things about those coasters, I knew I had to check it out. Besides, HW isn't exactly located in a high tourist area, unlike Ghost Town which is located in the Smokey Mountains, the most highly visited national park in the US. With proper investment and promotion/advertising, I think Ghost Town could become a thrill seekers mecca.

Ghost Town--A thrill seeker's mecca? I doubt one new coaster could be put up there somewhere much less 2 or more. Im sorry but this may be the end of Ghost Town. Even if somebody opened it and fixed things, I doubt attendence would be great with competition across the mountain (Dollywood) and the Pigeon Forge metro area is where most people visit when visiting the Smoky Mountains not Cherokeee or Maggie Valley.
