Six Flags Ride Packages

In reference to the SFWoA hyper being fact or fiction, someone said that the park wasn't included in the list of parks recieving a ride package. Could someone please tell me where I may possibly see this list? Or someone post it on here? Many thanks in advance!

Long live Six Flags Astroworld!! Ok, you can all laugh now...

As far as I've heard only SFMM,SFGRAM,SFGRADV and SFOT are getting "major rides" in 03.

I've also heard that the parks that did well in 02 will get something in 03,after all it's very stupid of SF to build rides in only 4 of it's parks and leave the others high & dry for 03,that's just not fair or right in my opinion.

Remember the magic words Batwing. "Return on Investment".

Cedar Fair and Paramount practice this same strategy.

Ric Flair was hitting on the female host, he told her - "Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it has the longest line." WOOOOO!

Great Escape could possibly be one of these parks because they have like 2 thrill rides.

I like my Eclipse but I like Force more....

Heres a hint where to put a new coaster Six Flags... At Six Flags New England!

It's not fair, but it wouldn't be the first time SF has been unfair to parks.

I really doubt that all the parks that did well in 02 will get something new in 03. I can tell you for a fact that SFEG did great for what it usually does, and I don't think we will see anything new next year, if anything, something will probably go. But than again, I havn't seen Turn of the Century operate in a while, and I think it might go. There are plenty of things that would fit nicely in there...

I guess it's another year of disappointment for SFAW...but I'm not surprised. But it sucks that the park can't get a new ride on revenue alone when there aren't enough "attractor" rides in the park. A Vekoma SLC being the biggest attraction? Yea right!! (sigh)

Haven't we gone over this time and time again? No, life isn't fair, get over it.

Hey OutKast, I don't EVEN want to hear about life not being fair, you don't want to go there. I never said "this isn't fair", so just shutchyomouth before snapping at people

SFMM is supposedly getting one of the two intamin woodies, the other is rumored to go to SFGRADV while SFGRAM and SFOT are getting the two B&M flyers.
People are taking it because SFoT, SFMM, SFGAd, & SFGAm were the only ones mentioned they are the only ones getting attractions. That is unlikely. SF's capital expenditure budget for next year is $128 M. Even a high estimate of $15M per coaster for those 4 parks is only $60M. That is only half of the budget. Other parks will get attractions. Those will go to the parks that performed well this year. SF's even stated in its 10-Q that beginning next year SF's capital expenditure strategy will be based on performance, coupled with its obligations for expenditures to SFoT, SFoG, La Ronde, and I guess now Jazzland. I would guess overall we will see about 7 new coasters for SF next year, some Scooby houses, and some other flats. That just a guess based on the budget, but we will start seeing in not too long. One park that I would be shocked not to add something is SFFT, considering that Joker's Revenge is obviously going to removed. Got to figure something is going to replace it to anchor the Boardwalk area.

Well, you could say SFAW is getting "Return on Investment". Attendence is down this year. It seems to work both ways.

Where do you get a figure of $128 million being spent on capital expenditures for 03? I and I'm sure everyone else has heard that the budget will be only $125 million spent on capital expenditures.

Still if spent wisely that can actually get more than just 4 coasters as well as a couple of nice flats and other attractions,I guess it all comes down to just how much SF plans on spending on a per park basis.

But wouldn't two Intamin hyperwoodies run at least $25+ million apiece?? I hope they get built! I haven't heard anything too reliable lately on this! I also hope the airtime would be as strong and intense as Heide Park's Colossos!
OOOoooh... ummmm i hope SFMM get's a 10 looper like colossus at thorpe park...and SFA get one too

ColossusHennesay....I love Double Rail Track from intamin...and triangular and box :D

i live a walk away from SFMM

I'd take a B&M at SFA over an intiman multilooper any day and hopefully thats what we're getting in the form of a floorless coaster.

SFNE won't be getting another coasters for atleast a couple of years. With all the fuss on the traffic that the park's exspansions are making, the fact that the road system isn't designed for that much capacity. That the parking lot is too small for Six Flags attendance and cars are parkign on town property instead. They had to fight to the neck just to build Batman:Dark Knight, and in return for the permit, Six Flags also commited to fufill improvements to the transportation and park system listed by the town. That is going to take quite awhile, because some of the things required long term procedures. You better enjoy Tiny Timber Town for now ;)
