Six Flags provides performance update

Posted | Contributed by redman822

Six Flags said in a press release yesterday that third quarter results will be in line with expectations stated last quarter, with better performance in the New Jersey, Cleveland and Dallas markets. They also said that they will remain "comfortably in compliance" with all of their credit arrangements.

I really am becoming hesitant to say "SF" or "CF" or even "Paramount" do or don't do anything specific *at their parks*. IMO, all show considerable variability in how they are run. Sure, many of the operating policies are set by "the people in corporate", but the implementation seems to vary based on the local park management. To me, THAT is where most of the decisions are made which determine whether I want to RETURN to the park. Cap Ex may get me to go once (shoot, I paid for admission when I bought a season pass)...but the policies, procedures, and EMPLOYEES are what determines whether I go back....;)
I went to Paramounts Kings Island this year and didnt have to go thru any mteal detector and have never went thru one at any disney/universal park. To me if a park feels the need to make their customers go thru a metal detector they dont trust those customers and believe a certain percentage will carry weapons into the parks. Which that in and of itself has to make one wonder who they are cateering too. I also dont remember having to go thru one at BGW or Sea World but have to do so at all the Six Flags parks i have been too and have felt the least safe at these parks also and that their isnt as much of a family atmosphere.
I agree, but its not really wether or not I want to go. It's more like if I can go(about once a year). Your still right , though.

I like SF,other parks might be better. But is it really my fault I live in texas?

Bob O if you feel the way you feel then that is your own thing and no one can say or do anything about that. But please realize that more than just SF parks use "security measures". I had my little hip pouch *thoroughly* inspected @ BGW. And while PKI may not have them, Paramount's Kings Dominion sure enough does have metal detectors.

But I am under the opinion (based on a number of your responses) that you are simply disenchanted with the Six Flags chain. So I take your comment with the proverbial 'grain of salt'.

lata, jeremy

--who notes that Bob O still has not proffered an excuse for why Kennywood, an 'accepted' familly park, needs metal detectors...could it possibly be for (gasp) safety?
