Six Flags Park on RI/CT Border...

As the History Rollback states...time warner was going to actually build the first SF park on the RI/CT border...WHY didnt this happen? It would of been the closest park to me...And it would of been the first ever SF park to be built from scratch...does anyone know what happened or why the park wasnt built?

Is the RI/CT border really all that far from the CT/MA border? That's where SFNE is.

SFNE is close to Hartford not Providence...I leave very close to Providence...and what does Nimby mean?

I believe it's a George Carlin reference (which took a bit to guess at).

"Not In My Back Yard"

Too much new traffic, lots of kids, too noisy, etc.

Just a guess, of course.

What do you mean first SF park built from scratch? What about the original three - SFOT, SFOMA (SFStL) and SFOG?

Providence is about 90 miles from Hartford...that's not that far! Heck, in LA you can drive more than twice that distance and never leave the city ;)

Look at all the East Coast Six Flag's already, none are more then 2.5 or so hours down the road from the next one.

If given the choice I'd choose a hamburger over a hotdog anyday of the week.

I'm guessing that this is the proposed SFNE park that was on the table before PKS came into the picture. I remember that Six Flags was serious enough to hire a PR rep to move into the area and try to help the project move along. I believe, in the end, NIMBY did it in.

SFOG is about a 13 hour drive from SFA

I wouldn't call SFoG an east coast park. Technically I guess it could be argued as such. But I was speaking of the Northeast.

Atlanta to Louisville or to New Orleans is definitely more than 2.5 hours.
From SFA to SFGRADV is about a 3 to 3.5 hour drive.
Um, are New Orleans and Louisville on the east coast? If so, let me know where there's a nice beach near SFKK, maybe I'd visit more often.

Six Flags seriously needs to put a new park somewhere in the northwest! I know there's Enchanted Village but who cares they don't have that great of coasters, and if they did put another one in it wouldn't be that big of a deal because the east coaste has thirty million six flags parks over there. And to think that they even considered putting a new park in over there is just completely rediculous!

Remember, this is when Time Warner was running the show, not Premier Parks. Time Warner would've built a park from scratch. Premier, now Six Flags Inc., doesn't build parks from scratch.

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
NIMBY is an actual organization of Environmentalists who don't want things like theme parks, landfills in their immediate area because of noise polution, smell, traffic, etc. Lol i actually got something out of AP Environmental Science.
