I have never been to this park before and would appreciate any suggestions or comments that could be made.
Thanks

Cornerstone Festival 2002... I will be there

Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like bananas.
I'm heading up there for opening weekend. Sure I want S:UF to be open, but I'm sure it won't be yet. I'm just going to get my pass since I won't be able to make it back for a while and wanted to get the early bird price of $50. I figure if I have the pass, it will make the drive from Orlando worthwhile, if S:UF wasn't reason enough!
As far as help, I've only been to SFOG once before myself, and it was a while back. It started raingin 1/2 way thru the day, but I got on all the coasters except for Viper (it was closed), Batman, and the mine train. This was before the Scorcher, so I have a lot to look forward to. Definately don't miss the GASM in the backseat and the Mindbender! Those were my favorites. You could pass on Ninja, but if you are looking to add to your count, give it a spin.
....and DON'T miss the mine train.

...hearing you, Homey G....that's a long haul for me if S:UF won't be open. Although, I have been led to believe by "the shirts" at SFoG that Ga Cyclone was due for some much-needed trackwork...if that's been done, I'd love to give it a "spin"...(Cyclone...follow along folks, they come pretty fast 'round here...;)
Monster Plantation, along with Ninja, for me at least, fall into mom's category of "if you don't have anything nice to say..." MindBender WAS the best steel coaster there IMO, and Ga Scorcher is Ravenesque, short but powerful...

It must be March, the Madness is setting in (taking vacation time to watch NCAAs instead of coasting)!
We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams...
I think the pass price jumps up sometime in mid-April. The exact date is on the SFOG website under the season passes section. Since I'm a student, I won't make it up there again until at least May, so I wanted to get up there now while I can.
The GA Cyclone was very rough and not that great when I rode it. I've heard amazing things though, so I haven't given up on it yet. I preferred the GASM over the GC becuase of the buzzbars and bunny hops!

Cyclone didn't get much trackword done over the break... it and GASM had some pretty standard wood replacement done (which happens every year), but Cyclone's ride will probably be very close to the experience you had last time. Personally, I always sit in the back and I still don't consider Cyclone above normal wood roughness. However, if it is too much for you, ride GASM instead.
A note about GASM: coming down the first hill only in the last car can be a back-jarring experience, I don't know why. I recommend sitting toward the front or middle of the train; you get insane airtime no matter where you sit.
I am bummed superman will not be open yet... but this is the only time I will get to go. I will be in Atlanta on personal business and plan to visit the park on a free day. If I was traveling to Atlanra just for the park, of course I would wait until S: UF is open.

MisterX, since I know you're "in the know", I gotta say I'm a Little bummed that GC didn't get what it really needed....still good, but NOT what it was a few years' back. GASM, however, is better than advertised, that's for sure. I will always cherish the multiple front-row trips I got, dark, damp, over an hour past closing, tracers blazing, while Viper broke down temporarily during the goodbye "celebration"...for some strange reason, everyone stayed in Viper's station while I made the quick jaunt over...still got back for the final pics and the last ride on the beloved Schwarzkopf...
Still, gotta wonder why SF, Inc. doesn't send their employees from other parks to SFoG for a day to see first-hand what the phrase "guest relations" is SUPPOSED to mean...great park there, MisterX, and we'll see you at GASM on the first weekend S:UF is open...;)

Just to clarify on season tickets. Is that pass good at all the Six Flags parks or is there a special season pass for that.
I know I should know better, but I haven't been in the season pass market for many years.

After being processed, a season pass purchased at one park may be used at any participating Six Flags Theme Park. (Season passes are not valid at Six Flags Water Parks and/or Six Flags Wild Animal Safari Park.) A Six Flags Season Pass must be processed at the park from which it was purchased.
rollergator,
Every year the woodies get touch ups around the track... that's just normal stuff. Sometimes this will smooth out the rides, but if it's a major problem, like a a long section of track needs reprofiling, it takes a while to get that done. Mostly in the off season old or damaged wood is replaced instead of entirely new track being put in. So who knows, maybe Cyclone will be smoother this season, but don't hold your breath! That ride was jerky from day one!
I was actually on the last Viper ride too. At that point I was seriously getting naseous and I was glad it was over! Ha ha, just kidding. I'm sure I saw you there at some point although I could never remember what you looked like now. I'll be running GASM (foreman) so we hope to see you there!
