Six Flags Over Georgia announces Ultra Surf

From the official site:

The Thrill Capital of the South is preparing a 2024 summer debut of the first-of-its-kind, industry-revolutionizing Ultra Surf attraction, featuring the ultimate combination of the roller coaster with unique water attraction features.

This coaster might look simple—but looks can be deceiving. Prepare to coast back and forth along nearly 590 feet of U-shaped track, reaching speeds of up to 60 miles per hour as you hit the ride’s 144-foot peak before splashing down in a scenic splashing pad.

If Bob from Indiana was disappointed on missing out on Test Track he better not go to Carowinds.

Families who live in my hometown (Huntington, WV) usually choose between Kings Island or Dollywood.

If I lived there I'd just spend time at Camden Park.

To each their own I guess!

Being born in Sandusky, and now living in Central NJ. I am a bit spoilt.

I only went to Dorney when my Platinum Pass from CP got extended, Mom met me from OH, went to Hershey last year, but will in Fall.

Have not gone to GA all summer, Waiting on Kingda Ka, and El Toro to both be working, and kids to be in school, and fall colors.

Going to KD and BGW in early Oct.

Lake Compounce, Kennywood, Waldameer are on the visit list which is sorted my miles.

I feel on the NJ, PA, OH park corridor people def go by whats new, or updated.

A lot of people in NJ though have no idea Knoebels exist.

As far as Six Flags, I only want to go the picturesque ones with ok reps, post pandemic.

Fiesta Tex, New England, Mexico

I haven't been to GA or MM since I was in my teens, but if close will go.

Camden Park

As a single fifty-year-old man with no children, Camden Park is fun for me about once every two or three years. There is a lot of nostalgia to be found, but the owner could do so much more. Big Dipper desperately needs some paint. The log flume only has two boats, if I am not mistaken. They could add a new ride every once in a while. They would benefit from buying another coaster or two. A spinning crazy mouse, a zyclon, or a sttel hog would be a perfect fit. Maybe take out the swan boat pond and add a small water park. Maybe tear down a lot of old stuff and rebuild it new.

I've heard through the grapevine that they've had a brand new set of bumper cars in storage for years now and haven't found the time of money to set them up.

I have always wished I owned that park, since I was about five years old. Can you imagine how fantastic Camden Park could be if someone who actually loved amusement parks owned it?

(Rant over...sorry.)

No, I think it’s a legit rant. But when you look at what’s happened to the Conneauts, Geaugas, Ghost Towns, Joylands, and AstroWorlds of the world it’s no small miracle that Camden still exists.
I know it’s a terrible place but it counts as my first amusement park when I was a kid. (My family is straight up Southern Ohio) The owners act like they don’t have a dime to spend on anything, additions are few and far between, but the good citizens of the tri-state area still flock to it. I think there’s a mutual socio-economic factor that comes into play. The park supplies entertainment that people there can afford and the people spend enough there to keep the parking lot in gravel. And to its credit it remains a family-owned park that manages to stay alive.
I know a younger couple here that are originally from Charleston and they have no end of Camden Park stories, some hilarious and some just sad. Every once in a while they ask me if that place is still standing or if it’s fallen down yet.
