From the press release:
Six Flags Over Georgia—the Thrill Capital of the South—today announced the all-new Twisted Cyclone hybrid roller coaster will arrive in 2018. Twisted Cyclone will offer guests the best of both worlds—a classic wooden structure combined with a modern, steel track for multiple inversions and a smoother, more thrilling riding experience.

Personally, I think this looks to be by far the worst RMC.
Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.
I suppose that's relative. The worst RMC is already better than some rides out there.
And having said that, it does look like a "budget" version. I like the double rolls, almost boomerang-like. But it's clear that a great deal of length has been cut from the ride.
Georgia Cyclone had a fine layout as it was. It roughness was eventually an issue, but I wonder what would've been the problem with a steel re-track of the original ride? It wouldn't be the most exciting, marketable conversion, but it would've served to preserve the original thrills.
With so many RMC versions.. does that mean the end of the real and true fully wooden rollercoasters?

As I said in the SFDK thread, Joker was a *fine* ride...
I'll take a "budget RMC" over most anything else out there...

My jury is out on all of these RMC conversions. I absolutely adore NTG and Outlaw run was really good except the inline twists made me nauseous. Iron Rattler was great, but Joker did not impress me. Too much rapid flipping and the pacing was all wrong. I'll have to get a bigger sample size, but I wonder if rides like Twisted Cyclone (ugh, not to be confused with Wicked Cyclone or Twisted Colossus) and Steel Vengeance will be too much for me.

Agreed. And maybe the worst ride animation too. "Let's make it look like it's about to pour down rain near sunset in the middle of a nuclear winter ..."
But yeah, definitely looks like a step down from any of the RMCs I've seen (granted, I've only ridden one, so what do I know really?)
Well, to be fair - I think that's kind of what they're going for... with the whole "Cyclone" thing and everything.
I have no problem with the video. The audio, on the other hand...
Who is the unfortunate knob whose wussified, high-pitched "oh!" was sampled for the audio track? It's heard every few seconds...sounds like a male voice to me...who just got his nether region tickled by a feather or something. Stands out so much that's all I ever hear anymore when I watch these animated POV videos.
And now, it's all you can hear, too. You're welcome.
Yes, I know I can turn the sound off. Thanks for the feedback. In advance.
Just wondering...would "feedback in advance" qualify as "feed forward"?
Sorry, off tomorrow so I'm experiencing that Friday thing I go through sometimes...

I pay attention to those vocals too. There was one a few years back where I swear you could hear someone say "oh my God" and there was another where it mighta been "oh Hell no".
The RMC POV renderings even include the ca-chunk sound those loud coasters make occasionally. Thoughtfully.
To me this video looks exactly what a modern interpretation of the classic "Cyclone" layout should be. They changed very little of the GA Cyclone's layout, which itself is a near clone of the CI Cyclone. I would have thought that this would be exactly what the purists would want, if change was indeed inevitable. (Which it appears to be.)
