With all of the additions, plans, changes, and everything else happening in the realm known as Six Flags Ohio, who would you want to talk to in order to get the whole and REAL story?
The GM of course, and we did just that to get the goop on the doings at SFO for 2001 and beyond.
From what's going on with the Big Dipper, to X-Flight, to Grizzly Run refurbishment- even a sneak peak or two at what may happen between Six Flags and the former Sea World Ohio... It's all in the interview.
When a park puts in 5 coasters in a two year period, then the park's GM says something like, "We're just scratching the surface of our master plan," you gotta be intrigued.
Like I said Chip,
GREAT Job!

Great to hear that the Big Dipper will live on, in its current form, no less!
Now Dipper should be able to run two trains! The thing about the story was, was there was no mention what was happening to some of the old rides that were taken out last year to make room for the expansion. Will i never ride my flying scooters at SFO again?
If they would get any more great roller coaster I think it will be the greatest park in the besides kennywood. If you think about it Cedar Point is horrible. They only have 5 good roller coaster. I have to give them Credit for M force though. But there lines are so long. you wills be in a fee year six flags Ohio will be the best.
You know why CP has such long lins?...Because they are the most popular park in Ohio! Yep Cedar Point is terrible, that's why nobody ever goes there (sarcasm). It's amazing what people will post just to get a rise out of people.
Cedar Point has some great coasters, and if 5 of them can be considered "good", thats not too bad, because I can't think of a Six Flags park where people consider 5 of their coasters to be good. Yeah, I wish that Cedar Point would do more in the area of woodies, and fix the problems with the ones that the company opeates now (Mean Streak, Hercules, etc.), but Cedar Point really has a collection of world-class coasters.
Here we go again.

Life's too short! Let's go ride some coasters!
lol Sim...
Well, at least this time we actually went to the source for the information.
What I don't understand is why so many of the Ohio residents think this whole battle between SFO & CP is a bad thing.
After all- who truly profits?
Ohio- the HEART of it all baby. Birth of Aviation.
Chip
PS- No offense to you west 'coasters'... just that we seem to have a bit of a COASTER controversy over here on our side of town between two parks in the same state. One folks can't seem to treat realistically and the other that folks don't seem to want to give a chance ;).
Rob said that he could'nt think of a Six Flags park that had five roller coasters that people would consider "good". Out of the three Six Flags parks I have visited, two of them had at least five "good" coasters.
SFOG
1. Mindbender
2. Georgia Cyclone
3. Great American Scream Machine
4. Georgia Scorcher
5. Batman
SFOT
1. Titan (i'm sure it will be good)
2. Shockwave
3. Mr. Freeze
4. Batman
5. Texas Giant (it's good, but it could be GREAT)
I agree with The Beast Machine who Loves Franchise. Cedar Point only has about 5 great coasters. But they are good for their other types of rides which help them bounce back. Power Tower, Demon Drop, spinny rides... I know I would never miss Iron Dragon or Corkscrew or Mine Ride or Disaster Transport if they were removed.
CPgenius, so CP is the most popular park in Ohio for 2000. But I think PKI was in 99 and many years before. But a 150,000 guest difference doesn't mean much anyway. CP had 3.4 million. PKI had 3.2 mil. And SFO is catching up. Highest increase(42%) in attendance of any park in 2000.
Rob Ascough, SFO has Batman Knight Flight, Superman:Ultimate Escape, Villain, Serial Thriller, and will have X-Flight. Isn't that 5? Or only 4 1/2 because of S:UE? At SFMM, there's Goliath, Batman, Viper, Riddler, X, Deja Vu and Superman. 7. I don't know about they others, but I know that Superman:Ride of Steel, Raging Bull and Medusa are pretty highly rated.
I hope SFO will put in a water coaster at SWO side. And why not a coaster? Anyone remember Kraken? Wouldn't hurt anything.
Does anybody think SFO will get an Arrow 4th dimension coaster?
I do Montu. Especially if CP doesnt get one within 3yrs. Just another ride concept SFO will have and CP won't. Seriously people we dont need to fight over which is best. Lets just say OHIO is the best!! :)

Don't mess with the X in 01
Why does every conversation turn back to Cedar Point?
What makes these types of discussions ironic (not to mention incredibly stupid) is that the majority of people from the Cleveland area participating here will go to both parks.
Let it go... this isn't religion, it's just noise.

Jeff, and your point is...
Can't someone give their opinions?
And you only think it's stupid because someone mentioned your park,Cedar Point. If it was between say Kennywood and Hershey Park or SFMW and PGA, I don't think you would have given a second glance. I may be wrong though. This is kind of turning into a site where you can say anything about any park but CP. But if you mention CP, you have to say it's a god. Remember Jeff,"this isn't religion".

bcdzoom, it has nothing to do with Jeff preferring a park and it has nothing to do with opinions. This topic was solely based on SFO but time and time again CP gets mixed in. If Kennywood and Hershey Park were constantly compared on various topics you bet we would make a comment about it, but you know that the only park that gets mixed in with other parks topics time and time again is CP. """IT GETS OLD"""

The reason it's in the mix here? CP is an hour away from SFO. So they're going to be affected by this. Maybe in a good way. Maybe bad. I think the main reason some people stick up for other parks above CP, is just to remind them that CP isn't the only park out there. In this case, showing that a SF park can be just as good as any other. Especially one that's ranked the highest...and did I mention only an hour away? It would be different if this was about a new coaster at (like it would happen, but anyway) SFEG and adding CP into the mix.

Yes, I know they are close together, but if you want to go that route, scroll up and see if PKI is included in this thread? Its in the same state and its competition to both CP and SFO. This topic was for Refreshing Look having an interview with Mr. Bateman of SFO. Not once in that interview was another park mentioned. The same should be said here.

O.K. I stand corrected. SFGAm was mentioned in one paragraph. LOL

I agree with jeff. For some reason almost all news articles always turn into a battle with CP. And no i'm not saying its a bad thing and that you shouldn't voice your opinion.

CP in 2002, get to the point
