Six Flags Ohio construction update

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Six Flags Ohio offered a hardhat tour to media and enthusiasts yesterday to show off the progress on their new rides. While the majority of the parks smaller new attractions haven't even been started, the roller coasters are coming along quickly.

While no track rail has been laid on Villain, construction manager Tom Jones says the ride will start testing with trains on April 15.

Superman: Ultimate Escape will be the only coaster of its kind in the world, due in part to the spiral track up the one "spike." Power is expected to be applied today with testing to begin as soon as next week. A pull through with two of the train bogies was recently completed to check track trueness.

The B&M masterpiece Batman Knight Flight is only a few track sections short of completion in the heavily wooded waterfront area between Serial Thriller and Raging Wolf Bobs. Several train cars were on site. Due to the tight squeeze and the water the ride was built over, a special device was created by B&M that will allow the crew to conduct a "pull through" without the use of a crane.

And by the way, Rotor will return next year!

Yeah, all the coasters are nice, but the big news is they're going to have a Rotor! Woo-hoo!

(Partially kidding -- not downplaying the coasters at all, I'm REALLY excited about those, but I haven't ridden a Rotor since Kennywood removed theirs...)

Abandon all hope, all ye who...oops, too late. Bye!
anyone have any idea as to what the capacity will be on s.u.e.? I think if i do go this year that im not gonna even bother riding sue cause of horrendous line length, and it dont look all that thrilling...
