Six Flags New England to get Deja-Vu in 2012?

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forums, and with me, I bring some interesting news.

I recently read an article on Screamscape that Six Flags Magic Mountain could possibly get rid of Deja-Vu at the end of the 2011 season. The article also said that if the ride is removed, it will be moved to Six Flags New England.

I live two hours from Six Flags New England, and I think that the addition of Deja-Vu to the park would be a bold move. I am somewhat confused on why they would move a ride like Deja-Vu to Six Flags New England. I know they already have Bizarro, which is alot taller than Deja-Vu, so that makes sense adding a smaller coaster. But why would they add ANOTHER boomerang style coaster to a park that already has a popular one.

What are your thoughts on this possible move?

I wouldn't think the presence of Bizaro would have any bearing on whether or not to add the ride. But, as you say, they already have a boomerang, Flashback. If they were to install Deja Vu, I would think Flashback would be removed.

Personally, I've always enjoyed the Giant Inverted Boomerangs.

Me too, when they run. I've had crazy good luck with them and rode all three when they were Six Flags installations.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

They are heavily promoting the fact they have the most coasters on the planet so this move would lose that.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Unless they plan to replace it with a coaster.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

As did I. I actually rode all 3 within a 12 day period in 2003. I got the one in Spain 2 years ago and I'll hopefuly be riding the one relocated to Silverwod in 2 weeks. :-)

Cre-Ho

It just went from rumor to basically all-but-confirmed.

I find it interesting that Magic Mountain's marketing campaign for the past year has been recapturing the record for most coasters in one park, only to dump one from their roster the next season.

2012 is looking to be a rather interesting one. The 80's Six Flags Ride Rotation program looks to be starting back up in full-force again.

Its really not a rumor as we have been talking about it for a couple months on sfneonline!

Credit whore, Billy.

Don't worry. I didn't know either until I put it into context.

Technically, they would still have the most unless Cedar Point adds another roller coaster.

If Magic Mountain gets rid of Deja-Vu, and it doesn't come back, can you even call it a boomerang?

Oh, well, if it's been talked about there, it must be fact.

I know nothing about an upcoming move, but I do know that Deja-Vu just got a new paint job in January of 2011. I didn't get to ride it because of that. I can't see putting money in to repainting a ride that is going to be moved in less then a year. That is of course assuming that they would have know that it was going to be moved.

Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

I've never had to stop and try to figure out which Ensign someone was talking about. ;)

That's because Ensign Jones rarely posts anymore.
