Six Flags New England officials have canceled an all-ages electronic music festival staged by the same promoters whose Quincy shows saw 12 overdoses this summer, most from the red-hot club drug “molly.” Park officials today confirmed they have called off Electric Adventure, which had been slated to take place at the Agawam amusement park Sept. 28.

When I was a kid, we just got drunk at shows. Get off my lawn!

And no one overreacted and canceled shows because kids were making themsleves sick with alcohol.

Still think it's weird how we treat various drugs so differently.

On a semi-unrelated note, I have always been really frustrated the enjoying live electronic music (which I love) seems to go hand in hand with drug culture (which I hate).

I'm just the opposite. I've always been really frustrated that if I want to roll, I have to listen to EDM.

I have to admit that live electronic music is mostly boring to see in person. The closest thing I can get to that being enjoyable is the more guitar driven industrial stuff.

Ecstasy is the drug MDMA in pill form, often formed with other substances. 'Molly' (short for molecule) is a nick name for pure MDMA powder in capsule form.
