Six Flags Marine World - Oct. 6th

I finally made it up North to see what else California had to offer. I have never been there (with roller coasters as the prime destination) before, so alot of new things and first-of-a-kind coasters for me as well...
A very pretty park that has lots of stuff to do for the whole family. There are plenty of shows and other things that keep the lines for the coasters at a minimum. I guess that did not really matter since all coasters were walk-ons all day, unless you wanted to wait for the front seat!!! The fright fest decor was out and looked fairly good, but that was not the reason for my visit.
Roar: My first ride on a GCI as well as millennium flier trains. I loved it! The M-Flier trains are my new favorite rolling stock for woodies. Incredibly open and comfortable! The ride itself is fast and relentless, good banked turns, good laterals and great overall feel to the ride. I love the "covered bridge" section after the (I think) 3rd drop, WOW! 4 laps. Favorite seat, front!
Kong: My first SLC. I was prepared to receive a beating on this one, but was pleasantly surprised at the overall smoothness of the ride, sat in the back seat. I thought the first 2 inversions were rather good. 1 lap, my girlfriend did not like it as much as I did.
Medusa: My first floorless. And now a word to those who find floorless coasters to be nothing more than a gimmick... WRONG! (*note: this is my opinion, no flame wars please) I found the floorless aspect to be good from all seats, not just the front. I loved the smoothness, the silence, the +G's (which I found to be powerful, not "forceless"), zero g roll (a slice of coaster heaven) and the vertical loop hang time. A welcome addition to any park IMO. 4 laps. favorite seat, front right side.
Cobra: Family coaster, this has to be the longest train on any coaster out there! 20 cars long, 2 across for 40 riders on a train.
