Six Flags Magic Mountain's Colossus closes tomorrow as speculation continues around its future

Colossus will close Saturday, ending an era for what once was the nation's tallest and fastest wood roller coaster. Now, the ride doesn't even rank in the Top 10 in either category. Six Flags officials declined to say why the coaster was closing or what might replace it. They say future plans will be announced Aug. 28.

Have they been racing it recently?

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Nope, I think 2012 is the last time Colossus was racing, probably the same time SFMM decided to go with a redo of the ride, so in there mind there was no reason to maintain both sides.
