Six Flags is testing a simplified passholder program at Magic Mountain designed to streamline the complex season pass and membership plans into an updated system that could be rolled out to other parks later this year. Six Flags Magic Mountain has stopped selling memberships as a simplified season pass program is being tested at other locations across the amusement park chain.

I don't know if the new system will be better, but the bar is pretty low. Selling season passes and membership simultaneously with wildly different benefits (this year, the season pass does not get into all Six Flags parks, the first time that's been true since I've been a passholder, which is 20+ years) was always confusing and annoying. It actually reminds me a little bit of Disney's new FastPass system where you need a manual just to understand what the options are.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Are they starting to phase out all-season dining plans? I see that SFMM as well as SFOT and SFFT are offering 4-Meal add-ons and then a 10-Meal option for the "Ultimate Pass".

"Thank the Phoneticians!"

I'm happy that they doing away with the monthly payments and not forcing us to deal with that terrible membership page to manage the pass. I'm going to wait and see before I purchase.

It's a start toward improvement. I'm hoping it carries through to daily operations.
