Six Flags Magic Mountain, in celebration of 40 years of thrill ride innovation, today announced an unprecedented year of capital expansions with three new roller coaster experiences slated for the Valencia theme park in 2011. With these additions, Six Flags Magic Mountain regains the coveted "Coaster Capital of the World" crown - with a total of 18 roller coasters – more than any other theme park on the planet.
Adding to the Park’s "thrills for all ages" coaster dynasty are two unique coaster experiences: the Green Lantern coaster, designed for the bravest of thrill seekers, is a first-in-the-U.S. vertical track, spinning coaster; and the park’s popular Superman The Escape will fly again in spring 2011 as Superman: Escape from Krypton, taking the record-breaking 100-mph-in-seven-seconds feature and elevating it to the next level of extreme by reversing the direction of the vehicles and sending riders backwards . In addition to those two exciting rides, a new thrill-seeker-in-training coaster, designed for the entire family, will premiere as well.
Read the entire press release and see video on PR Newswire.
Yeah, that has to be the distinction. Roller coasters coast. If it doesn't coast it's not a coaster, it's a powered ride, period. Although Intamin half pipes are getting pretty far out there in the spectrum of what constitutes a roller coaster, IMO.

That's been a long debate in the Coaster Community. I think the individual should be left to decide what it is. Wildebeest At Holiday World is considered a water coaster but yet you don't see it on Coaster Tracker apps such as the one I use on Facebook as a coaster.

That is because there are 2 types of rides called water coasters:
1. Flume/Coaster Hybrid: In my book a coaster
2. Waterslide that powers (ie not by gravity) riders up an incline somewhere on the ride.

No need to be so salty, peppering your speech with rye wit.
Why do you have to salt my wounds, when earlier you were trying to butter me up? Is this some kind of roast?
Well done, sir. You're on a roll now. But you might want to be careful with that kind of saucy humor around here. Some folks might think you were half baked.

Eh, so we're a little cheesy, and I can't help but egg you on; I see no reason to water it down. But I think we've milked this joke for all it's worth.
Yes. Put a fork in it; it's done.

The humor on this site is simply delicious. I've always got room for more.
Also, that is kind of odd that SFMM would get a second 4D. I almost wonder if it'll be somewhat marketed (or at least seen as) a "mini-X2".
Regardless, I'm totally not complaining. It's pretty cool to finally see one of these come stateside.
I always wanted to ride a Zacspin so I'm happy. They are like super cool looking and seem like they would be an Extreme and also Extremely unique experience. The Superman thing I'm not overly impressed with because it is the same ride backwards but still cool. Congrats to SFMM on becoming the Coaster Capital of the World. Sorry Cedar Point :(.... but Congrats SFMM:)
they really didn't mention the third ride in the video only the Superman and Green Lantern.

Yeah a Kiddie Coaster. Unsure what designer/model though.

Always a smart (dumb) ass that ignores obvious keyboard problems.....
What a riveting and thought provoking ninth post, "CommonSense". Take a look back at your posts, and you'll see that no one here should believe that your horrible grammar and spelling is a simple mistake or broken keyboard. It's not that hard to look over your post before you submit it.
Don't get all pissy. Laugh at yourself and try to do better. :)

^^I think the point was that that "obvious keyboard problem" was intrinsically funny, while the other ten were just distracting. I got a good chuckle from the ensuing tangent, at least.
As far as SFMM goes, I'm glad to see them renovating Superman. Hopefully it'll run as high up the tower as the video shows.

Ha Ha Ha, you're funny. The obvious problem, if you'd even look at the post was the P key sticking... every P is there twice. Also if you want to criticize the way something looks on a forum, you should remove your picture. I'd at least assume you think its cool to look like you sleep in an alley, and smell like an abortion, but it really isn't.

As funny of a joke as that would've been with a group of friends, it's fairly obvious that posting a comment like that on this board will get you absolutely nowhere. I wish (in general) more people would take into account their credibility before they choose to speak (or type)

No. It's much cooler to look like an abortion and smell like you sleep in an alley...or at least I'll have to assume from your lack of photo.
Get over yourself. It was a funny typo. (or typpo, if you will)
No reason to make it personal. And if you are gonna make it personal, you'll need to do way better than "I'm making fun of your picture" to hang in the long run.
That is unless somebody less cool with it than me doesn't boot you for being a dick first.
