We got to the park about 9:30 and there was a pretty long wait to get in. About 20 min later, we got in and headed straight for Goliath.
Goliath:
The queue line was only 45 min. long but the theming is really nice. There are statues and pretty trees. Off to your right you can see the so-called "Centrifuge." The Centrifuge is the helix of death on the ride. Since it was a very hot day, they had the misting fans on to keep everybody cool. When we got to the station, there were only 2 trains running and a long line for the front. This was my first Giovanola coaster and my friend and I decided to ride in the back. That line wasn't very long. When we got in the comfortable trains, we put our orange lapbars down and we were ready to CONQUER GOLIATH!!! We were off. After coming out of the station we make a wide right turn to the lift hill. The lift was very noisy! After about 2 min of climbing we were at the top. You could see almost the whole park. To your right you could see the mighty Colossus. To your left you can see Superman The Escape, Batman The Ride, Riddler's Revenge, Psyclone and the Dive Devil Skycoaster. In front of you is Hurricane Harbor, Flashback (closed), and Viper. After leveling off, the chain slows down and there you are, 235 ft. above the ground about to fall 255 ft. into a misty tunnel!!! I lost my stomach a lot on this drop! They say the tunnel is 125 ft. but its more like 12.5 inches because you're in and out at 87 mph. Out of the tunnel you fly upward really high and make a wide right turn to another crazy drop. After that is the huge 90 ft. camelback. Thus hill is the most airtime I have ever felt in my life on a ride. Then you fly through a left upward spiral to the brake run. Then you fly through a left hand banked drop and a right hand over banked turn towards the Centrifuge. This 585 degree helix is packed full of strong positive G's. I have heard Mantis is the best B&M stand-up, and I bet they haven't ridden RR.

Cool steel runaway mine train ride. The last helix is the best part.

My only suspended ride. Very bumpy and loud.
I didn't like this one.
Superman The Escape:
Okay, I rode the tallest, fastest roller coaster in the world. At 100mph and 415ft. it's the most intense 30 second in one's life. There is not much more I can say.
I didn't ride Viper and Revolution because the lines were really long!!! I had a really fun day and I hope to be at the Point SOON!!!

Riddler's Revenge is also my favorite stand up. The combo of the drop off the block brake, flat spin(40ft off the ground), then quick turn around the building is coaster heaven IMO. And Superman rocked my world as well!!! Glad you had a good time, that's what it's all about ;)
Superman... The tallest coaster in the world? Not in an Ohio dominated environment. If you catch my drift... No one's FORCEing you to believe that. With the new MILLENNIUM upon us, you'd think this argument would be over, but.. eh.. what'cha gonna do?

Millinium Force is about 120 ft lower than Superman. It also is a little slower and, I bet you havevn't herd how loud Superman is.

Ohio dominated environment? Aren't you confusing Coasterbuzz with GTTP? This format is for all of us, not just people living in and loving Ohio.
Exactly Simcoaster, every once in awhile we need to update people living in Ohio about this. Some of them tend to forget.

Really, let's not go there again. The only reason that there are so many Midwest people here is that a) it's a moderate density but spread out population center and b) there sure are a lot of coasters in the midwest. That said, I've never met a Midwesterner who didn't want to visit the SoCal parks.

i also just got back from sfmm and i have to say goliath is the one of the best coasters (besides medusa at sfmw) on the west coast! i didn't feel the g-force effects like some other people have in the centrifuge, i just thought it was awesome being pushed back in my seat so hard. anyways, if you have the chance to ride goliath, go do it. you will be speechless afterwards. trust me. peace.
Well having just got back from a trip to Marine World I must say I cant wait to get back to the Mountain (food poisoning cancelled MM stop). Ill be goin next week to check out whats new. Can't wait to try the G-Man.
Final note to CoastermanJ, in my opinion Medusa aint even the best ride at MW. Roar is far better and I dont care much for woodies. Medusa should have been heavily themed and include some areas of darkness. Its is fun and smooth except for coming out of the brakes. Best part: Final turn.
