I went to SFMM Sunday. I have gone there multiple times almost every year since 1984 and it is by far my favorite amusement park. Crowds were light. I was there from 10-6 and rode 25 coasters total including re-rides. X2, Tatsu and the Riddler's Revenge had the longest lines (they always do, along with Goliath sometimes) although they still weren't that long. X2 had a 45 minute line, Tatsu looked long but I used flash passes on it so it didn't matter. The Riddler had about a 45 min. line so I used a flash pass on it too since all the other lines were very short. Luckily when I rode Riddler at the end of the day I got on 3 more times in the last 15 mins the park was open, a perfect way to end the day. Here is a summary of the day in order.
X2: 45 min line
Revolution: 5 mins
Viper: walk on
Tatsu: rode twice with 2 flash passes, waited 15 mins each time
Ninja: 10 mins
Goldrusher: walk on
Riddler's Revenge: 15 mins with flash pass
Batman: rode twice in a row, 10 mins and 15 mins
Colossus: walk on
Scream: walk on 3 times in a row (awesome ride which never has a line, even when the park is crowded)
Goliath: rode twice: 10 mins and 15 mins
Revolution: walk on
Viper: walk on twice
Tatsu: 15 mins with flash pass
X2: 45 mins, would have been 30 but it broke down for 15 mins
Superman: 5 mins
Riddler's Revenge: walk on 3 times in a row
I heard through the grapevine that Mamoosh absolutely will not visit this park. :)
Could this be true?
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Did you experience any of the painfulness on X2 that I've heard so many people talk about towards the end of the ride? What seat did you ride if so OR if not? I'm thinking about heading to Magic Mountain next year, and X2 is a gotta ride for me, so I want to get the best possible experience.

X2 is much smoother since the remodel. The last raven turn is not nearly as rough as it used to be. I have been in almost every row on both sides of the train and it has been always been pretty smooth. As long as you hold onto the handles and keep your head back you should be fine. I tried putting my arms up on X2 once and I would not recommend it and will not try it again.
My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
2010 total visits: SFMM-9, KBF-2
2010 total ride laps: 437

hold onto the handles and use them to lessen the roughness. it has always worked for me.
The inside seat is also a less bumpy ride. Prior to the remodel, my wife and I would split up and ride seperate so we could both get inside setas, as th other seats would make a milkshake of your brain. NOW the outside seats are abou as rough as the inside was and the inside seats aren't too bad at all. Of course, when X first opened, it was about as rough as X2 is now, so I would expect it will get worse as time progresses. Still a killer cool ride experience that nobody should ever CHOOSE to skip.
I've traded in my 2002 Arrow X4D for a Gravity Group Out n Back. My other car is now a Voyage!
