Six Flags latest to announce plans for Dubai

Theme park developer Six Flags Inc. said Tuesday it will partner with Dubai-based developer Tatweer to build theme parks across the Arab world. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Six Flags said it will work with Tatweer to create a number of new concepts in the region, including Six Flags theme and water parks, branded restaurants, hotels and retail outlets.

You know, I really wanted to go to Dubai until I heard about its mandatory drug-sentencing policy. Some guy got sentenced to four years in jail because, at the airport, a drug-detecting machine found .0003 grams of marijuana stuck in the tread of his shoe. Same sentence for another guy, on whom they found poppy seeds from the bagel he'd eaten for breakfast.

Don't think I'll risk that just so I can see a housing development shaped like a map of the world.
