Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to remove ride that severed girl's feet

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom wants to tear down its Superman Tower of Power ride on which a girl lost both of her feet earlier this year. The victim's lawyer wants to make sure critical evidence is preserved, while the park wants to get started removing the ride in time for next year's opening.

Aren't they able to take down the ride and then keep all the parts to in in the warehouse? this way, everything is kept in tact and the ride is removed from the park, wouldnt that be a win win for both sides?
Here is an updated story from today saying that Six Flags can begin removing the ride on Feb 1 as they requested.
In the public sector park (government) business we are required to keep equipment that causes severe injury or death until any pending litigation is complete. It can be taken down, but must be stored.
Well it was still standing last week. raptorqueen and I were just discussing if this would be taken out.
