Six Flags hosts GOP fundraiser

Posted | Contributed by supermandl

Six Flags America hosted a fund raiser for the GOP Monday. The park said it was not an indication of support for either party, and invited the DNC and independents to approach them as well. The funraiser comes at a time that Ed Markey (D-MA) is trying to reintroduce a bill to regulate amusement rides at the federal level.

This just gives them more fuel for the fire.
I hope they kept Bush's daughters away from the beer cart. LOL!

please, lets not make this a political discussion. This is just like musicians appearing at political rallies. they are just entertainers, and are there for entertainment, just like the park is.
Good thing Al Gore wasn't there. With his weight gain, Lord knows he wouldn't be able to ride anything. At least W is in shape.
Is it true that 2 GOP'ers where riding a coaster bumped there heads and now cant remember if they are repubicans or democrats. I smell a lawsuit.
(joke before anyone jumps down my throat)

GOP'ers in office don't have anything better to do. Let's hope that the Bush twins are not allowed in so the park can stay safe!

What's next at Knott's? Anyone know?
Our main concern should be the wrong legislation trying to be passed by a very liberal democrat who thinks knows what best for you better than you do. We should all hope that the legislation is defeated and maybe this may help by having some elected officials and their family members ride a coaster and see how safe they really are!

I don't think being liberal or a Democrat has anything to do with it. Most of Markey's own party thought he was looney last time he tried to get this thing passed.

Yeah, you would think since most of his party thought it was ridiculous that he would sit down and think for awhile that this is a lost cause to fight.

What does GOP stand for?
What do you bet now that SFA is hosting a GOP event, Cedar Fair selects a park to host a concession party for Al Gore or something. LOL.

GOP: Grand Old Party, which is probably better known as the Republican party. Generally speaking, our politicians are either Republicans or Democrats. They tend to tag them as "conservative" and "liberal," but these days they both tend to be more in the middle (which in my opinion is a good thing, since taking a "black and white" approach to anything is generally not the right idea).

Can you all leave the Bush daughters alone for a while? If it was Dubya doing something, maybe I could see talking about it. But considering not so distant past events that happened in the Oval Office, I don't see college campus events as such big news.

P.S. SFA is just the closet park to Capitol Hill, no more no less.
I think being a liberal has everything to do with it(this legislation isnt sponsored by a conservative is it)as their guiding idea is that we are too dumb to know whats good for us and only government knows what is good for us and has to protect us from ourselves!
