Six Flags hires training consultants

Posted | Contributed by PhantomTails

Six Flags announced that it has retained Houston-based Solutions and Specialized Innovations Ltd. (SASI), to develop and implement a training program for park employees designed to enhance the company's focus on improving the guest experience at Six Flags parks across America.

Read the press release from PR Newswire.

Jeffrey, I think you'd like that TOO much.

This discussion reminds me of the old Dilbert cartoon where pointy-haired boss announces a program to improve employee morale. Nope, not raises, benefits, etc. Instead he hands out "posters featuring comtemplative nature scenes and inspirational sayings."

Prospective stock holders are eating it up, but like has been pointed out, we'll see what happens when it actually comes time to ante up and start paying for these ideas, not just talk about them.

Crap, they could have hired me for a few hundred thousand and I'd tell them how to be cheerful and polite.

I don't know how you are all saying that the new management hired this company. If you read the fine print and do a little research this company has been consulting Six Flags for some time. They have been working with the following Parks: SFST, SFA, SFWW and SFMW. I know that SFGAM and I believe it was SFGAVD and SFMM hired a consulting firm last year in order increases Guest Services. So this approach is not new. I think that this Press Release was put out to show investors that they know that there is a problem with Guest Services, so that there stock price can go up.
Whatever. I'm with carlo18...It's all about the stock prices.

Do we know if the same old consulting firm is going to do the same old training program it has been doing already, meaning the same old wonderful Six Flags guest service we have all been graced with, or do we think that maybe it's a totally brand new awsomely cool training program never before done in the SF company which will revolutionize the service we will get in the next few years?

I'll believe all of this "talk" when I see it.

(I really keep going back and forth on my opinion of the company's image)

Heres my short opinion. I'm confident that Snyder & Co. can bring this Six Flags back, but I'll beleive the customer service when I see it. It s hould be common sense.
"Sense" isn't so common anymore. Look around...
Funniest bit, is if you've ever been to IAAPA... The education program runs workshops, several of which are a premium, and a cost. EVERY year, there is a woman from Six Flags (her name escapes me) that does Train the Trainer I and Train the Trainer II. I wonder if she's as good as advertised...

Guess not
