Just wondering if these "Giga Loop" models were mechanical nightmares because it seems odd that they both came down relatively soon after their debuts (if there were more than 2 built, my apologies). Some carnival companies have their original Sooper Loops model from the 70's that get set up and tore down countless times over the years and somehow those are still going strong. Are these 100' tall models that much different from the smaller portable models? I noticed that these seem to have some sort of fins opposite the train on the "inertia ring". Are those used for counterweight purposes? Regardless, it seems strange that a ride that was so common is now becoming more of a rare find. Not that I'm complaining... I could never handle these, especially the old school models with the caged-in trains. Those were a claustrophobic nightmare!
I think the addition of the larger Larson loops, was the worst cop-out cap ex out of the mid-teens SF.
Also, this being the first Giga, has had even more issues.
Makes you wonder if there are maintenance advantages to taking down your mobile Larson loop every week that permanent installations don't enjoy.
