Six Flags Great America finally announced their new B&M flyer for 2003, which to no surprise is called Superman: Ultimate Flight. The ride is similar to the one at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Anyone think it might end up being like AIR? Water effects and what not.
I cant wait to see pics of the themeing, maybe this is a new direction 'some' Flags of Six parks are going in, more themeing,

I don't think the new flyers with go into the flying position out of the station because...
The has an extra set of wheels on it that are used for putting it into the flying position, with a unit inside the sation. You notice them in these pics, the set is close to the rider's head, during the ride, but are not touching the track at all.

in this one you can see said wheels going into the unit, that moves them into and out of the flying position.

once in the station the hyduralics, kick in, the back of the rides is unlocked, and the lever pulls up. Once reloaded, the lever pushes down and glides the train and wheels back into the flying postion and locks the train there. (the wheels shown in the last 2 pics are now covered by the lever mind you, which is the big ass red bar).

Without this lever, I doubt that the hydrulic system alone would be able to move these multiton trains into the flying postion, by themself. So saldy I have to say they will go into, and be taken out of flying position in the station. which during busy days, not having the twin loading station is going to be a huge factor, beause loading/unloading time on this ride were hell this year.
What's mid-way between St Louis and the east coast? Yep...Ohio! And at that time it *was* in the mid-west.

Anyway, check out pictures of the station of SFGAdv's flyer's station. You can see pictures of the Swing Arm Mechanism (aka SAM) already in place on the station track. This is the machine that tilts the trains, and works exactly like the flyer at SFOG works.
