Six Flags Great America- B96 LONG

Associated parks:
None

I was at the B-96 Private Party at Six Flags, and here is my trip Report.

We arrived at the park gates at 4:50 p.m. and they were not letting anyone into the park. They made us stand outside till exactly 5:00. Once in everyone was heading towards Deja Vu. We decided to go left towards V2. Walked right onto the ride in the back Row. Awesome ride, and the hangtime you get with the brake is amazing.

Next we headed towards American Eagle. The Blue Backwards side was open at this time only because during testing the red side didn't do something right. Going backwards on this ride is amazing. Going up the lift hurts a little, but after that non-stop fun. The helix trims were not on, and the bunny hills gave unexpected airtime. Awesome ride backwards.

Next we ate some food and boy the prices have even gotten more expensive. $11.00 for a burger, small fry w/cheese and a drink.

Then we headed for Shockwave. This ride seemed faster today and it wasn't rough at all. I don't see how people don't like this ride, I love it.

We then walked by the dormant power dive again towards Batman, we noticed V2 was shutdown and they were testing it, due to that high pitched siren. Batman did seem rough, but still getting into the warm batcave in this weather was nice.

Then we went towards raging bull to find out it was done pretty much for the night. We decided to go to the concerts. The first group was Vip? and they were horrible. Then b2k came on a kids were trampled, canceled the show and we ran towards deja vu. Heard later they finished the concert.

Waited in line for 2 hours, and the wait was worth it. Amazing ride, and going backwards is awesome. The loading time with the two buckles take almost 5 minutes per train, but the heaters pointed towards the wheels also warmed the station up.

After Deja Vu it was time to go. Awesome night at the park.

Then we headed for Shockwave. This ride seemed faster today and it wasn't rough at all. I don't see how people don't like this ride, I love it.

I agree with you 100%. I love the ride. All these horror stories of how rough Shockwave is are severley exaggerated. It's as rough as any other Arrow coaster. I've got to ask though, how were the lines for Shockwave?

R.I.P Megadeth. 20 Years of Metal will not be forgotten.

Sounds like you had a fun time. On the bridge, did they restore it to its original look, or does it look different than it did before?

Yeah Shockwave is a awesome ride, I think if your taller you will find this ride more enjoyable. Im 5' 9" so I can't hit my head off the harness, so I think its a great ride everytime.

I was also at the park. I did not see any of the concerts and im surprised to hear it was canceled, I was on American Eagle red at this time because you could just stay seated on the ride no getting off! I beleive they wre letting people into the park starting at 4:30 it jsut didnt look like they were moving.I got inside around 4:50 headed in the direction of DV and there was a swamp of people waiting for the gates to be open to leave hometown Square and enter Southwest Territory and County Fair. Right about when i got there they opened the gates everyoen yelled and we all ran toward DV. I started with the crowds towards the ride, but then I turned around went up the stairs to the theater in hometown square by where the new Fastlane Building is, and ran right past everyone. I was ableto run past them on the elevated section in front of those buildings becasue everyone was in the midway meaning you cant get anywhere. After that I walked right into Vus station and decided to wait for the front becasue I have not yet ridden the front and the wait would not be this short for me for the whole season. So I waited an hour for the ride. If i would have been in another seat it would have been about 15 minutes.

OK, Bull never breaks down-- this worries me.

Yeah Bull does break down last year at the advocate party it was down the whole day, I guess it doesn't have much luck at private partys. It was running fine on the 20th though.

I was on Raging BUll when it broke down. Personally, I think it was the ride ops fault. It was running just fine, they went and checked our lap bars, and evrything was great. Then i saw her press a button and she then threw her hands up like she didnt know what was going on. we were stuck in the lapbars in the station for about 15 min until they manually took us out of them and gave us exit passes.

Also, is that fountain in hometown square by county fair southwest territory new? i think it is i like it. it had colors at night.

HA! Bull was VERY screwed up on Friday.
Seems that the manual harness lock buttons werent working. Maintenance figures its from a lightning strike during some storms last week. They shut it down and reworked the computer. Should be fine now.

The ride-ops DID set up the ride twice. Sending the trains too early.

When 1 train is running on Eagle, it will always be blue.

yea after i got stuck on it friday i didnt see anyone else on it. also i rode it 6 times yesterday and it was just fine.
The Bridge looks just like it did before but it is repaved. The Orbit was also not built yet, saw a truck sitting there were the ride should of been. Also the computer problems do sound like a probability. When they were testing it, the sound system was really screwed up. I don't know if that is run off computers, but if it is, that would give us more of an Idea what really happened. Tha park looked great, and they were either adding a restroom, or completely redoing one of them. I don't remember where it was though.

So why wasn't the Orbit running? Why did they have it apart?

Beer, my soon to be wife, coasters, and the FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Is this a great country or what!!

i saw the orbit cars behind the climbing wall when i was in line for demon.
I also just remembered this about Shockwave. They only had two trains on the track, and the third was no where to be seen. Not even in the matinence area of that ride. Must be redoing it, or the park is too lazy to set it up!!!
Enlighten me because I'm not sure...is Shockwave even busy enough at this time of year to warrant three trains?
No. 2 trains is more then enough for Shockwave.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL

For this time of year, they don't need more than 2 trains. It will come in handy during the summer weekends though.

The park will run the third trains on both Shockwave and Demon if it gets busy enough.
