Six Flags Great America - Opening Day 2025

Thought I'd start a round of posts related to opening day and trip reports. Mine is pretty short. Headed to SF Great America for opening day. (Well, technically Friday was opening day, but Saturday was close enough.) Parking lot was surprisingly full. Not packed, but a lot more than I would have expected. Security was cleared pretty quickly (though we were there about 12:00 and the park opened at 10:30.) Superman looked like 1 train operation and had a line back to the Midway. SKipped that. Went on Dark Knight. Not a walk on but not much of a wait. The layout has been changed since the past few years. You now exit toward the center and cross over the tracks to exit. I can't recall if this was the layout Pre-Covid, but it seemed to make things go a bit smoother.

Batman had working fog effects and quite a bit of cleaning to the station - TLC so to speak. 1 train running but fairly efficient. Not a long wait at all. Similar for Golliath. Two trains running, but for the most part other than riders pulling down their lapbar and making an issue to get them raised again, a pretty nice run.

X Flight was quite slow. 1 train running and almost everyone was being routed to the right, as the left was getting taken up with flash passes. But then the exit got backed up, and you'd end up with only a couple of rows actually getting on the ride each time. Not as much fun operationally as could be desired.

Justice League had a bearable wait. The biggest problem was only one of the cars circulating had all 6 laser guns working. Most of the cars had 1 or 2 out of service. Not a huge issue for groups of 4 as we had, but definitely not helping with capacity. It felt to me like the images were better this year - maybe just realignment of the video systems over the winter. Raging Bull was running nice, but again, just a single train, which made the line somewhat crawl along. A second train was sitting down on the ground ready to go up on the track, just not there yet.

Wrath of Rakshasa looks great, though there seems to be quite a bit still to be done to get the area fully ready in terms of fencing, sidewalks, etc. The ride looks done and ready though.

Did not get on American Eagle or Viper - single train operations as best as I could tell - and Whizzer was not running (though it looked like a crew was training.) Demon also was not running - but that may be related to the new construction issues, as the trains looked like they were on the track.
