Six Flags Great Adventure Trip Report 04/19/03

Associated parks:
None

I tend to ramble on in my trip reports, so I am trying to make this my most concise one. The weather was pretty nice, about 60 degrees, just a tad bit windy at some parts. No flat rides for me, just bring on the coasters! Here’s the order in which I went.

Batman & Robin: The Chiller (Robin)

times ridden: 3

wait times: about 5 min. each

Notes: I was tempted to go straight to Superman, but I knew that the lines for Robin would be horrible later on in the day. My advice if anyone ever goes to Great Adventure – no matter what, go to this ride first thing. The lines are very short in the beginning and it’s a great way to get your adrenaline pumping for the day. The rest of the coasters have great capacity, so don’t worry about the lines. Go on this coaster first. I passed by it later in the day, and the wait was, just like I guessed, extremely long, probably over an hour.

Superman: Ultimate Flight

times ridden: 1

wait time: about 1 hour

Notes: There was this *****! who went in the Fast Lane line accidentally, and then got very angry when she was told to go back and join the hour long line. So she cut half the line with her friends, but soon after that we all saw security go after her and kick her out. Justice! Hahaha. She deserved it too, she was so rude. She was in a fury, cursing and everything, she has a real attitude problem. The ride is excellent, it’s fun to see others and experience yourself being pulled up in the station. Just don’t have anything in your front pockets. Let me tell you … the pretzel loop is the most –amazing- and –intense- coaster element I have *ever* been on. Damn. Unbelievable. Great ride.

Medusa

times ridden: 4

wait times: about 5 min. each

Notes: At this time I passed Scream Machine because I thought the lines would be long, and headed for the back hoping the line would be short on Medusa. It was. Medusa is a fun ride. You all know that.

Rolling Thunder

times ridden: 1

wait time: about 20 min.

Notes: WTF! First off they have only one train operating on one side. That sucked. The fresh paint they put on this coaster was a waste. They should have used that money for a bulldozer to tear this mofo down. A lot rougher than I ever remembered. Horrible ride.

Batman: The Ride

times ridden: 1

wait time: about 10 min.

Notes: The ride was a very short wait. They had two trains operating, but I didn’t feel like re-riding for some reason. The zero-g roll is a bit rough this season, but the ride is a lot of fun with great positive gs. No paint job, but they had a little bit painted purple. Ugh, why can’t they just repaint it black?

Nitro

times ridden: 1

wait time: about 30 – 45 min.

Notes: I have nothing interesting to say. Just great ride.

Great American Scream Machine

times ridden: 5

wait time: walk-on

Notes: I thought the lines would be bigger, because of the people coming off of Superman, but I was wrong. I love this ride, I’ll go on it a million times. I don’t think it’s rough or anything.

Nitro

times ridden: 1

wait time: about 30 – 45 min.

Notes: Took another spin on Nitro. It was fun.

Superman: Ultimate Flight

times ridden: 1

wait time: about 1 hour

Notes: Broke down for 15 minutes, but they got it running. Superman rules. Good job Great Adventure.

Then I went to go see the Lil’ Romeo concert at the Northern Star Arena at 6 pm. Wait, no I didn’t. I hate little kid rapper gimmicks. Screw that. Anyway, great day at the park.

I bet she intentionally went into the fastlane line;) I only got one ride on the 17th. I will be back for more on Tuesday hopefully with a Q-Bot in hand!
