Six Flags Inc. says that the Kingda Ka roller coaster, the world's tallest and fastest, has been repaired, tested and certified by state inspectors and is reopening at its Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in Jackson, N.J. The ride was shut down June 8 after a malfunction during a routine test run. No passengers were aboard at the time and no injuries occurred. The company said it had identified the problem that caused the malfunction and, working with the manufacturer of the ride, has made adjustments to prevent its recurrence.
Read the press release from Six Flags via PRNewswire and Yahoo.
50 bucks says the next accident is the cable(s) snapping, which will take another week to fix. ;)
"We are very grateful to Intamin, the ride's manufacturer, who has worked closely with us to address the malfunction and to ensure that it cannot occur again."
It also sounds like Intamin and Six Flags are BFF. Right. ;)
