Six Flags Great Adventure announces Kingda Ka has reopened

Six Flags Inc. says that the Kingda Ka roller coaster, the world's tallest and fastest, has been repaired, tested and certified by state inspectors and is reopening at its Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in Jackson, N.J. The ride was shut down June 8 after a malfunction during a routine test run. No passengers were aboard at the time and no injuries occurred. The company said it had identified the problem that caused the malfunction and, working with the manufacturer of the ride, has made adjustments to prevent its recurrence.

Good, now everyone can sleep tonight...

50 bucks says the next accident is the cable(s) snapping, which will take another week to fix. ;)

I really hope it runs smoothly for the rest of the season. I'm glad to hear it's running again.

"We are very grateful to Intamin, the ride's manufacturer, who has worked closely with us to address the malfunction and to ensure that it cannot occur again."

It also sounds like Intamin and Six Flags are BFF. Right. ;)

What's to be grateful about? It was under warranty, they sure as hell better fix it.

Exactly Jeff. "KK is a great attraction and is a one of a kind experience". Yeah right. Dragster was a one of a kind experience when it opened, KK is not. Yes it's the tallest and fastest but the same basic experience can be found on Dragster. It's not like X where it's the only one of it's kind. Now X, that's definately a one of a kind ride.
I'm glad it's opened because I was planning to go on the 19th so I can get more rides on it . I managed to get 4 rides before it broke down.
Dragster wasn't a one of a kind either. Xcelerator was when it opened. And even then, not so much.
Wow, 1+ month closure at SF without a coaster manufacturer going bankrupt. This is shocking.
If KK is as good as TTD then congrats to all who ride her, you're in for a great ride. That's all I got to say.
