Six Flags Great Adventure announces Green Lantern roller coaster

Besides, 15 is like, 6 in coaster years.

Chang was easily one of my favorites at SFKK... I am glad it is getting a new life and not being sent to the scrapyard.

^ I don't think it getting scrapped was ever on the cards. It's only not at SFKK now because Six Flags planned to relocate it.

Rick, I am just trying to put a little bit of perspective on things... It could have been a possibility to demolish it and use the scrap money to build a new ride, and coasterhound coming across as if it would have been a better option.

In other news, Universal Islands of Adventure has just announced that they are installing their own 150 foot, 5 inversion stand-up. It will be themed after Deadpool.

First, Kingda Ka, which is very similar to Top Thrill Dragster.

Now, Green Lantern, which is a mirror image (design-wise) of Mantis.

Hmmm...

Does Chang have that nasty trim on the first drop like Mantis does?

Actutally, Chang is not a mirror image of Mantis. Mantis has four invervsions (including the inclined loop), where as Chang/GL has five giving it 255 feet more track length. But hey, I am glad to have this "new" coaster at SFGadv, and have another Justice League member watching over the park

Should be interesting to see next season if this is the ride everyone goes to right at opening. Now the majority go to KK some go to ET, Superman and Nitro. For a while that will probably be the only way to not wait in a huge line as I see the ride being very popular plus loading won't be fast. I also wonder if it will run 3 trains since Riddlers 3rd train was at the park as of a couple of weeks ago.

Coasterhound36 is complaining, delan quoted MJB, and I suggested delan preach on.

Oh, and Great Adventure is getting Chang, themed to Green Lantern.

Probably because the new ride at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi - which is quite a lot faster - opens in four weeks.

Cool retheme on Chang, but it still will always be "Chang and Bang" in my book. Not a big fan of standup coasters in the first place (nor are the jewels). Still, this will be a good addition to SFGAdv to round out their lineup. Sucks that GASM had to go to put it there, though. I actually liked that coaster.

Good to see then finally coming out with the news. I was hoping for a name and thime that would have suported the american boardwalk insted of a superhearo theme. at this point they might as well retheme the Board walk to a DC superhero land.

Shame Cedar Point doesn't have the best woody in America, or a great standard looping coaster (in this case, Bizarro)...

Don't make comparisons to trash GAdv that actually make CP look bad.
