Six Flags received the 11th and final tax abatement approval from Rock Valley College at the Rockford Park District’s board meeting Tuesday night. Eleven taxing bodies had to approve the tax abatement because Six Flags agreed to lease Magic Waters only if it didn’t have to pay property taxes. Magic Waters did not pay property taxes under the Rockford Park District’s operation.
