Six Flags... Florida??

How about "Six Flags Over Arizona" or "Six Flags Arizona Adventure!"  I sure wouldn't mind hearing the announcement of one of those parks!  Especially considering I have NO parks around me and I have to drive for 7 hours to another state to even ride a REAL Roller Coaster.  (KBF or SFMM)  Yet, everytime I am on here I see posts from people in California, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, etc barking about getting more parks.  Be happy with what you have and feel priviledged to even have an Amusement Park in your home state!
that has to suck koppman, i mean i live 3 hours from any big amusment park and i think that sucks.

"isn't six flags america in VA,"

Nope, but its close. It's in MD... not far outside of the DC beltway on the eastern side of the city.

If you want to be near theme parks, move to a more densely populated area.  Arizona?  I don't think so...

"How bout a Six Flags in VA! There was going to be a Disney Park, but NO! Stupid War Grounds!"

I'm not a VA resident, but I'd rather they preserve a battlefield than sell the land to a Disney park. I guess I'm one of the people cernelli mentioned that cares about preserving the nation's history, but I won't go into details here. Suffice to say that there has to be a better place to build an amusement park than on a battlefield. I doubt many on this site will agree with me, but we're a pretty small part of the population (in instances like this, that can be a good thing).

I Agree. Somethings are more important that having another Disney Park.

Fierce Pancake: go easy on Arizona, I would be willing to bet that Phoenix is more densly populated than Branson, Mo.(SDC), many of the towns in Pa. that have parks, probably even Louisville (SFKK). I think it is one of the major overlooked areas.
Well, Phoenix does have Castles N Coasters. Granted, OD Hopkins coasters definitely aren't REAL coasters, but they are coasters, so Arizona isn't completely devoid of amusement parks, it's just completely devoid of GOOD amusement parks! But Koppman, it could be much worse for you, trust me. How would you like to live in Houston, TX, home of 10 of the WORST roller coasters on Earth? We might as well not even have an amusement park in this city, considering all the CRAP that Six Flags has been giving us for the last 20 years! We have to drive hundreds of miles to ride REAL coasters too, and we're the 4th largest city in America, so Fierce Pancake's comment about population density is a bunch of BS!

Very true, but once you have kids and take them to these places, the magic returns again. Once my daughter was born, I started to re-visit small amusement parks that I wouldnt touch from teenager and on. Once you return with your child and see the joy they are having, you have a new love for the low-thrill type parks again.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL

Yeah, Phoenix isn't exactly the smallest city in the U.S.  It has the 5th largest Metropolitan Area of any city in the country.  Anyway, yeah we have Castles N Coasters, and I've been to more carnivals than I have trips to that place!  That is essensially what that place is equivilent to, a traveling carnival!  I mean, it is located in a mall parking lot for crying out loud!  It also has NO room to expand and never will.  The two coasters in Castles N Coasters are both pretty weak.  Desert Storm is decent, and at least goes upside down.  The other is Patriot, a VERY small kiddie coaster.  The park is all of 9 rides and everything in the park can be done in about an hour.

Yeah, that kinda sucks Irondraggon, but don't expect too much pity from me!  I would trade SF Astro World for my park any day of the week.  I would also trade my two coasters for any one of yours.  (With the exception of The Serpent)  I do agree that Six Flags does need to get all of you down in Houston some new coasters though.

Maybe I'll just build my own park here.......  LOL!

If I heard correctly, I understand that Six Flags is currently $2 Billion dollars in debt.  I suspect they won't be buying anymore parks for a while and might even need to start considering selling off.

Wrong. Debt doesn't mean they can't keep buying, it just means they can't lose money in the process. As long as they can pay to operate their parks and pay on their debt, they'll be fine.

Hmmmm, I guess time will tell.
If I personally was an executive for Premier/Six Falgs whatever, I would focus more on improving operations in exsisting parks rather than getting a new expense and more problems.

i agree with beeman....Six Flags needs to improve the operating quality of their parks....although ive only been to SFA and SFGAdv, both were in sad need of upkeep, and ive heard the same from other SF fans around the US.  and as far as a SF park in VA, it wont happen.  SFA draws enough attention from VA residents...and besides, we have PKD and BGW, and both of those parks are very nice, ESPECIALLY BGW.

all we need now, and ive been sayin it forever, and im gonna keep sayin it....PKD desparatly needs a freakin hyper.....bad!!! :)  richochet will be great, but come on...SFA and BGW both have one....why not us?!?! hehe :)  im done :)
