Six Flags earnings dip despite higher attendance

Six Flags posted net income of about $200 million in the quarter, compared to about $204 million in the quarter last year. Revenue was up $1 million to $621 million. Attendance was up 3%, partially offset by a 1% decrease in per capita spending and an expected 26% decrease in sponsorship, international agreements and accommodations revenue.

Or a time machine. Release indicated that decrease in net income for the quarter and year to date were primarily the result of a change in state tax law that provided a benefit in last year.
