Six Flags credit card.

Does anyone here have this card? If so, are the perks as good as what the offer says? 10% off food and merchandise in the parks sounds pretty good. Plus reward points toward admission and season passes. Here is the link.

Too bad you can't choose different plates. Usually when a sports team or a college, whatever, has licensed cards there are a couple of options. It'd be nice to have a couple coaster options instead of just the corporate logo.

I got one two years ago for a short time. I charged enough on it to get one free ticket, then I cancelled it (already had too many cards).

When I got to the park (the new Six Flags Ohio) they had no idea what my certificate did. I waited around for 15 minutes while they passed it from hand to hand and scratched their heads. Finally I said, "Can I go in now?" and they said, "Sure, whatever."

What I find ironic is that the SF card is either a Visa or MasterCard (cant remember which) yet the "Official Card of Six Flags" is acutally American Express...

From their page....

.9% fixed annual percentage rate (APR). This special rate is yours for six (6) months. After that, you will continue to save with a 11.74% variable APR.

The question is how the heck do you save at 11.74 % APR ? Lol

Yeah, I thought that was odd, too, Jeremy. 2 years ago at Geauga I signed up for my AmEx and got a free (generic) Six Flags shirt with the AmEx logo on the breast.

So how much do you actually have to spend to get these "perks"? It seems you would have to charge a whole bunch for them to give you a season pass.

I forgot the actual numbers, but I got a pre-approved invitation for this card in the mail. You get one "point" for each dollar spent, and six for each $ spent at a SF park. You can then redeem your points for tickets, season passes, parking passes, food/merchandise certificates, etc.

I'm not sure, but I think the conversion rate was 1,000 points=$15.00.

My two favorite coasters are named Superman.

So ou have tos pend a 1,000 bucks somewhere else or 177 at a Six Flags to get 15 bucks. Thats pretty crappy.

I guess I'll be the first to say that that card is rather ugly.. Just my opinion, but it is rather bland! Anyway, I dont think I have heard of it before, and that is pretty funny that the official CC of Six flags is American Express..
First USA has a horrible history w/ customers. I had one a long time ago. Do a search on Google Groups for 'First USA' and check out the complaints. Review/opinion sites (like epinions.com) would probably have similar complaints on First USA.
I had a Universal Studios Discover Card and that one had a great program for points. Could redeem for merchandise, park admission, movie tickets and other Universal Products. 10% off selected merchandise at the parks. And a few other small perks at the park. And not just stuff for the park. They discontinued it last year. I will say that at IOA when I bought some merchandise the employee wasn't aware of the card discount, but there was a second employee at the register who knew about it and instructed the employee about it.
I got somthing from them about 2 month ago. If it would have had a coaster on it I probably would have got it just to have it. I already have 5 credit cards 3 for certain stores and two to use anywhere. I just filed it into the garbage can after I read about it.
