Six Flags Commercials Already Airing

I was watching Judge Judy on Monnday and I saw a Six Flags Great Adventure commercial. It gave some nice ariel shots of the park and stated "The most Rides On the Planet". They also tried to pull a quick one with the Nitro "footage" but in fact its raging bull. I saw it again and taped it just so i could see the close up details on pause. Are any other parks starting their ad campaigns already? I guess they just want more and more people at sfgadv. Oh well...

Nitro - The Next Sphere Of Thrills!
I havent seen any yet, but boy did they pull some crap last year for SFGL:

Serial Thriller: Great Nor'Easter (don't know how SF got this footage)
Batman: Medusa
Superman: S:TE
Villain: Texas Giant
(any I forgot?)

They also had a completly different waterpark, too.

Six Flags does the most terrible commercials. The one for Six Flags New England last year showed Batman and Robin: The Chiller, and SFMM's Viper when they were talking about Superman. I know the track wasn't built when they made the commercial, but they could have at least shown the SFDL version. Also, they showed a train going backwards at one point. Those commercials just make me laugh.
"Villain: Texas Giant"

Let me close my mouth!! :)

Anyway for Titan, they show Goliath, which is reasonable since Titan isn't even completed. Also, the com. for SFOT last year and this year were GREAT!! :P

Drachen Fire, Will it be swimming with the fishies?

A few years back SFDL's commercial showed a white wooden coaster and a red looper, neither of which they have, or have ever had. in 99 they used SFMM's viper for S:ROS of course there was no choice for that seeing as how it was the 1st one ever built.

They're starting to show Six Flags ads in Instand Messenger as well. Hmmm... I know a place that would love to have those ads... ;)

Thats a good idea Jeff, However, most of the people that already visit your site know about Six Flags.

Not true... our surveys have shown otherwise. Remember, with around 4,000 people visiting the site every day, not even the enthusiasts are a majority.

In the metro New York area the commercials start to air about 3 weeks prior to the park opening. In the past it has been all stock footage from the various parks around the country and just the local parks info superimposed. Yup it is cheaper that way they don't have to do as many commercial shoots at each park to get the message across to the majority of potential park visitors.
The comercials are basically directed at the youger crowd age about 10 or 12. The reason is to get the kids excited so that Mom and Dad will take them to the park. Unless the kids are real finatics (sp) about roller coasters they usually don't know the difference and just know this is where they want to go.
Wether you really like Six Flags or not is not the question. If you live like I do less than 15 miles from Six Flags NJ you know that the advertising pays as the park is packed from opening to closing day. Bottom line the ads work.
