Nice!! Two unqiue rides!!

I envy those who live in Houston!

If Canada's Wonderland get another flat next year, I seriously hope it is the Fly Swatter!

It "is" a Fly Swatter!

Both rides are slated for the Mexicana section. I seriously wonder what the layout for the Rapids ride is going to be like.

john peck - click here for a pic of the raft ride. The pic on that page links to larger versions, so you can get an idea of what it will look like. It's *not* a long layout and, IMHO, looks more like something belonging in a waterpark.

We have links to little animated CGI videos on our site. If you can't get to them from the official Six Flags page, hit: http://sixflagshouston.com/press.html

Thanks, boys!
I wonder if there will be any changes for SFA's version of the raft ride. It could be done identically since SFA's is to be in Coyote Creek and there is already some Mexican themeing there.*** This post was edited by Jim Fisher 2/7/2003 12:30:48 PM ***
Diablo Falls will rule !
We have some of these rides in Europe and they are very fun. You don't get that wet in it, so it fits in a themepark It's definately not a waterpark ride.

It's also nice you're getting the first S&S Sky Swatter. Six Flags rules !

They finally get a new ride.

Its not a new coaster, but hey...The 1st Sky Swatter in the world....Pretty cool!:)

I spoke with our very lovely and talented PR Manager out at AstroWorld today... I've gotten confirmation, and the go ahead to post that no matter what you see about Diablo Falls being "dry" on the manufactures website, AstroWorld did indeed purchase the optional "wet" package for Diablo Falls and AstroWorld fully "intends to get people wet on this ride".

Plus they added the interaction of having non-riders spraying the riding folk...sort of like Soaker.
Can someone link me to a pic of what a sky swatter looks like?
Simply go to www.screamscape.com and search the special features for the "S&S" section.

Will the wonderful staff of sixflagshouston.com be covering the construction? :)
We'll probably get some photos. I've heard the swatter parts may start arriving early this week.
Sure enough, I see supports have arrived by the truck and they're definitely a bright orange.
Diablo Falls looks awesome. Im surprised Dollywood hasnt purchased a ride like it considering their record with slides and water-rides. Now what would be awesome would be if the next one built had rubber-ducky shaped boats and it could be called "Splish Splash, You Will be Taking a Bath".
Who cares if it's not a coaster? Down here I think it's more welcomed than you think with the way the summers are. It would be more tragic for there to just be an empty space in TT's old spot. It will fit in well. Tidal Wave will be across the way, and the Gunslinger and Warp 2000 will also help SWAT fit in nicely.

For the sake of yourself, don't take anything I say seriously.

I totally agree with you astrofreak. Sure, Diablo Falls might not be that long, but its something the whole family can enjoy together. Its a perfect fit for Astroworld.
