Associated parks:
None

That Would be great if you did join! The admin, is doing an excellent job on getting the site up and running, Join the forums so we acually have something to yak about. Don't worry SF Critic, the site will start moving along once the season really kicks off, (i.e. 7 Day operation and Memorial Day weekend!)

Anywho, yeah I miss the old TSC. Not saying its bad now, just saying it was better. Like intamin fan said, the moving props havn't been working. Also water is supposed to shoot out of one of the Skull's eye.

Yeah that is my secondary homepark, since im always in Chicago and have alot of family there. Who ever is going to SFGAm HH, expect large crowds. Chicago local news has been advertising SFGAm since opening day and HH from beginning to end, so basically everyone knows there. Plus they repaved there parking lot this year.

Expect large crowds at SFA this weekend (this year basically) also, but prolly not much tomorrow since they calling for thunderstorms. I will be there on Memorial Day though.

P.S. SFGAm did get permission to add to their sign, they will be adding something to the top of the existing sign, addition will be 160 square feet, and it will be SFHH related, was passed 5-0 by the board of trustees. The sign will likely be replaced next year with an all new sign as the current highway sign has outlived it's usefulness (agreed), so later on this year SFGAm will probably apply for another varience to build them a new sign.

The current highway sign http://www.sfgamworld.com/gallery/05252005/HurricaneHarbor13

Which questions us. Most likely I can see a sign going on route 214 soon, but when? Will it also say HH at the top like SFGAm is getting? Also I've never seen any SFA billboards.... please judge me on this question!

I don't know ALL the Facts!!!!!!
When you say billboards are you talking about ad billboards or highway signs pointing the direction to SFA? I think billboards are pretty much illegal in the State of MD along the interstate, but I'm not sure. I don't if the park has any along 301 or not. However, there are directional signs on 95 directing people at what exit they should get off.

A day at the park is what you make it!

Hmm, don't know if this is what you are talking about, but SFA is also seeking approval for a new "SIGN," though it's tough to tell exactly what kind of sign the park is trying to get. Here's the request:

Permit Number: 16993-2005-00-S
Project Name: Six Flags
Address: 3710 Central Avenue
Mount Rainier, MD 20712
Permit Type: Reg. Permit
Primary Use: AMUSEMENT PARK
Work Description: SIGN
Date Applied: 5/18/2005
Expected Completion Date: 6/3/2005
Status: Pending as of 5/27/2005

One would think it's for the main entrance sign, but I really have no clue. As for Hurricane Harbor at SFA, the park has updated their webpage and it now says "Hurricane Harbor Has Arrived — Now Open!" so they must be ready! I'm excited. My sister and I will be there bright and early with our swimsuits on. We hope to be the first public riders on SFA's Tornado. Either way, I will take LOTS of pictures, so check back here later Saturday night!

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

SF don't have any along 301. If they were illegal they why are they everywhere in Baltimore, and that's Maryland? Well on the Interstate as well. SFGAm do billboard ads for their park and its really nice.

Coaster Lover, im talking about a big sign, like the one at PKD that you can see on the road. SFA is the only park that I know not to have a Huge Sign (Highway or Interstate).

I don't know ALL the Facts!!!!!!
I live in Maryland and billboards probably aren't illegal but i've never seen one in my life (here anyway).BUT!There are also signs sayin "Six Flags 1/4 mile" and 1 mile and stuff like that. It in brown too,i don't understand that.
It was also supposed to rain today, thunderstorm also.It was very clear and was up to 82 degrees its supposed to rain tomorrow night and i hope that is true.

First, the law is probably at each counties descretion. If you look closely, there are no billboards along I-95 in Montgomery, Howard, Prince Georges counties.

See this article for the law in Montgomery County and if you search on billboard you will see several other counties, towns and cities have passed similar legislation:

http://www.gazette.net/200009/montgomerycty/county/1984-1.html

Also, Don't forget, SFA has a height restriction, nothing over 200 feet. All though they could go back to the county for a special exception if they needed one. Besides, Superman is 198 feet tall and you can't see it from I-95, in fact I can barely see it from the top of Fedex Field. So for a sign for SFA to be seen from I-95, it would have to be one very huge sign.

Lastly, the park would have to overcome the not in my backyard issue with the Kettering Homeowner's Association. They've been pretty quiet the past couple of years and I don't think SFA wants to rock that boat.

Anyways, have fun today everyone. Wish I could be there.

You know what, I have always heard about this height restriction, but I really don't believe it unless you have proof?

Your right about Superman; its barely seen from Fed Ex and can't be seen form I-95. So you think the SF sign will be built on I-95? If not, where will the sign reside?
