Six Flags 2002 Anouncement made!!

The announcement was made today unfortunately for us thrillseekers no new rides for 2002 but we get some festifals, shows, and Lo-Q.

I don't know, I don't think that was the "OFFICIAL" announcement. I'm going to wait for the one on the site.

Notice they didn't mention Viper, The Chiller, or Alcatraz.

Yea im also hoping for Tlc for Rt and if any cleaning or paint jobs went on. I hope so because Gasm,B:tr and Rt desperatly need a new coat or three of paint.

nitro230ft, if you're waiting for them to announce a new coaster, IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!

That's the official press release there. They never announce improvements or reopenings of rides, so that's why they didn't say anything on Chiller or Viper. Alcatraz was announced last year, during it's soft opening. the difference this year is that it's gonna be 3 times as long to go through. You'll have a real mission briefing (probably actor, and video) and then you go through Flight School before entering the full pod and carrying out the mission. The graphics are gonna be 100X better, too. Also, 5 more pods will be there this year.

ThrillShot is an upcharge, hene it isn't announced. Notie how SF Inc doesn't announce upcharges? I didn't hear anything about the Funtime Sling Shot, Turbo Force, or Dare Devil Dive, did you? Oh, and SFMM didn't announce it's Thrill Shot, it just opened one day.

Six Flags sure does announce upcharge attractions. Remember the SFDL announcement a few weeks ago? How about the announcement SFGAdv itself made for its Alcatraz ride (yes, they did announce that).

I still stand by what I said before: from what I've heard, it's highly unlikely that SFGAdv will be getting their Absolutely Insane this year. They were originally planning on one, but backed out quite recently. They'll either keep the current Top Fun slingshot or they'll just have nothing for a year. Again, let's wait and see...

...when you make your topics... you COULD be a little more specific instead of just the general Six Flags 2002 Announcements... because that article had nothing to do with any of the other parks except Great Adventure.

Some parks haven't officially released what will be new for 2002 quite yet (The Great Escape, Elitch Gardens, and Worlds of Adventure come to mind)...

They've either dropped hints, or given some info on SOME of the stuff that may be new for '02

Ok....coaster131......dude, I didn't say anything about getting a coaster.

1. I KNOW GREAT ADVENTURE ISN'T GETTING A COASTER! I knew that for like 3 months.

2. Alcatraz, like you said had a soft announcement, They HAVE to mention it in the 2002 annoucement! It's a 2002 ride. right.

3. In the letter I got from the park, they said look out for our announment about the new RIDES and attraction to come. I smell a new ride somewhere, hopwfully in The Boardwalk.......he he

Yes there will be a new ride in the boardwork, S&S's Thrillshot...it has NOT been cancelled, or else sfgadv wouldn't be telling all of their rides employees in department training classes this year that we are getting one...And as far as announcing upcharge attractions, there was no announcement for Turbo Force or or the Top Fun slingshot (Which is officially GONE)....plus if you check out their official site right now and go to Park News they have the press release there.
