Six Flags - 94% Positive

Found a neat little tool - Opinmind

Essentially, it spiders blogs and records positive and negative comments and then spits out a percentage of positive comments on the subject. Granted it's not exactly perfect, but just ignore that for now. :)

Six Flags - 94%

I dunno. It amused me for a little bit.

Interesting that, in general, any amusement park I searched scores in the 90's (usually high 90's). People just dig them and don't seem to get caught up in the goofy little nitpicky details that enthusiasts tend to on message boards.

Interesting! I searched Cedar point and many of the negative comments read "I went to Cedar point and it sucked because it rained."
Ok then...The Point is so good, they can actually control the weather!

Also read the Cedar Point negatives. It's actually a good thing when someone says Cedar Point sucked because....and it turns out to not to have anything to do with the park. It's like when your boss's (sp?) boss shows up and the best he can find fault with is the weather. I liked the first negative on Cedar Point. It sucked because of the traffic, a detour, the sister whining, and whatever. Not one b**** about the actual park...but, Cedar Point sucked. Funny

Considering they only seem to scan lousy teen blogs I don't think anything on there is worty anything. But it is amusing.

#Thought this was funny, first post for Six Flags

"We waited in line for the shockwave and the superman tower of power. that took all our damn time. By the time we went to the Titan the rollercoaster had gotten stuck and they shut it down wiht all the people waiting in line(us) ;( I hate six flags and i swear i won't ever go again- unless there's some way i get to cut in line without paying ;("

#First post for Cedar Point

"Cedar Point sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to cedar point on saturday with Craig and my sister, jessica. On the way there the freeway we needed to get on was closed so we ended up getting lost and 75 was down to one lane!!!!! We went 2 miles in over an hour! We get the, 3 hours later and my sister said she was going to go on everything. She went on the geminie and freaked out!!!!"

Nah. I value reading the opinions of the GP (even if it is a bunch of teeny bloggers) over enthusiasts any day.

Plus, Mountain Dew Code Red is currently sitting at 100% - so these kids do know something. :)

So Gonch...what's YOUR positive rating? ;)
Somebody loves this person who got 100%...

I think we found a fatal flaw in the system.

LOL! Just some of the many, many satisfied M:TR riders ;)

mOOSH [thought we hadn't mentioned that in a long time!]

I did a search on Silver Dollar City and it was a 100% rating.

Hmmm, Knoebels got 100%, which I find amazing. Not that it would be so well liked, but that any of those bloggers would be able to spell it correctly.

Hershey got only 89%, but apparently most of the negative comments come from people who hate chocolate. And a few requisite ones who apparently don't like anything at all.

Blogs, I just don't get them.

Well, that would be the "not perfect" part that I mentioned.

Posts like that aren't saying the park sucked because it rained, they're saying the day ot the trip sucked because it rained.

Opinmind sees CP and the negative comments and lists the entry as negative even though it's sort of technically not a negative CP comment.

Still think it's a fun look into what non-enthusiast types are thinking about their visits to these parks.

Kind of nice to read opinions of these places that don't mention things like one-train operations or downtime or stapling - stuff like that.

That's exactly it, RGB. I bet if you searched for mangled spellings of Knoebels, youd find a lower rating. The intelligent people get it... ;)

Ah, but did you try Nobles, Noughbles or Knowbles :)

Nobles brought up WAY to much about Barnes & Nobles so I skipped it.

The other two bring up nothing.

Sadly, Gonchar brings up tons of crap about the hockey player (still need that jersey, especially since Pittsburgh picked him up), Gonch brings up 2 posts (100% positive) and Lord Gonchar - well, no one talks about me.

Just give it another month or so, with any luck the Gonchar jerseys will be on heavy discount cause he'll be a Ranger or something ...

--Brett, former HUGE Sergei Gonchar fan ... very disappointed in him now :(

Not only does Top Thrill Dragster have a 100% approval rating, but it still is the tallest and fastest coaster on earth as of 12/30/05. :)
"There is only one thing worse than being talked about, and that is NOT being talked about."

"Very witty, Wilde."

Gonch, you mean nobody BLOGS about you. Next time, try entering "mean, arrogant Coasterbuzz monitor." :)

Ha! :)

So true, RGB.
